Character 2 double bedroom cottage in Shaftesbury

The location was perfect. Off street parking. Easy walk into Shaftesbury. Patio with outdoor set to sit outside and enjoy the garden.

Everything was perfect. Bed was super comfortable!

This is a lovely old cottage which is decorated and furnished to a high standard. It is a short walk into the centre of Shaftesbury and the main attractions. A generous welcome pack containing bread, milk, eggs, etc. was provided. The host (who lives in the adjoining house) recommended eating at San Tonino (Italian) restaurant which does very good food at a reasonable price.

A couple of niggles which took the edge off our stay .... The kitchen table and worktops were regularly invaded by ants (fortunately not red biting ants) which made meal preparation and eating somewhat difficult. All food needed to be kept zipped up. There are many cards with "don't" scattered around the house, e.g, don't use metal utensils on the teflon pans. It was all a bit irritating given many of the "don'ts" were common sense.

We enjoyed our time in Shaftsbury. The house was very old, with all the charm and quirks that go with that. It was very well equipped with everything we needed, including in the kitchen. I liked that the owner met us on arrival and showed us through the house. I also liked that he had a book that included the operating manuals for all the appliances. The rental includes a small patio and outdoor table in a pretty setting looking out over the owner's garden. Shaftsbury itself is a very nice small town, with a thriving high street a few minutes walk from the house. The house sits on a promontory, with overlooks to the east and west featuring expansive views over the countryside.. It is well placced for visiting severl national trust houses and other local attractions

Most americans probably find showers in lots of European houses incredibly cramped, but his one seemed small even by those standards, The water was hot and plentiful, though, so it wasn't a big issue for us.

Great location close to town and local attractions. Comfortable beds and all the facilities you could need with really good welcome pack. Mike and Louise are lovely hosts and offer good advice on where to go and what to see. Have already booked for next year

Es handelt sich um ein sehr altes Haus, laut Vermieter vielleicht 1000 Jahre alt. In einem solch historischen Gebäude zu übernachten, war einmalig.

편안하고 아름다운 고택에서 지낸 시간이 즐거웠습니다. 깨끗한 침구와 뽀송한 수건~~ 아름다운 정원을 바라보며 야외 식탁에서 와인을 마시며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다 집 안에 주차장이 있어 안심이 되었습니다 신선한 빵, 우유, 버터, 달걀, 과일, 꿀 그리고 싱싱한 꽃이 화병에 꽂혀있었습니다. 극진히 환대받는 기분이었습니다.

아름다운 정원을 거닐 수 없어서 아쉬웠습니다. 눈으로 보는 것으로 만족해야했지만 그래도 좋았습니다. ^^
