Character 2 double bedroom cottage in Shaftesbury

Lovely old cottage, very comfortable and with everything provided. Great location for short walk into Shaftesbury town centre. Friendly and helpful hosts.

Everything we wanted and nothing we didn't.

Beautiful cottage in an excellent location. We stayed with friends and were delighted with the reception we received, the extra provisions provided, the facilities and cleanliness.

I cannot quite recall ever staying in a property where the owners had considered EVERY possible need the visitors may have. The attention to detail, including breakfast items, fresh flowers, tissues, even torches for dark nights, were provided. The bed was so comfortable that I made note of the mattress and ordered one upon our return home. A character home from home does not get any better than this...

Although wood and fire-lighting equipment was provided, the house became very cold once the heating went off at 9am. It came back on when we returned from dinner later that evening but, during the day, when we returned to relax for a few hours and when it was still virtually freezing outside, the fire in the living room and rugs that were provided were the only heating options.

The cottage was extremely well equipped, clean and beautifully presented.

Whilst we appreciate that the cottage was a home and a listed building, we felt there were rather a great deals of don't do's in staying there. We understand that some people do not look after the places they stay in, but for us we did not enjoy this part of our stay.

An exceptionally clean and comfortable ancient cottage . Everything that most people need , was provided . The hosts obviously take great pride in their property and take people's safety seriously . We were given a comprehensive welcoming chat detailing fire precautions, muster points doctors and hospitals should the worst occur . Shaftesbury is a beautiful historic town and the property is well placed to take full advantage of all that is on offer - which includes a lido . We had a lovely restful few days and hope to return in the not too distant future .
