Lorton Villa with a Log Burner

The host hasn't paid my £150 pound deposit back she asked me to send it to her personal bank account which is also dodgy it's a scam and I've tried to contact her multiple times over this issue, do not book here awful experience!

Magdalena is a great host, very friendly and helpful and keeps an absolutely spotlessly clean house. I've never stayed anywhere as clean, not a speck of dust anywhere! Best nights sleep I've had in ages.

Location was convenient. The host was welcoming and the amenities were within walking distance.

The property is advertised as 'Villa with a long burner.' this was not the case at all. The host used the living space to sleep in as she was renting out her own bedroom! The atmosphere was uncomfortable and did not feel private at all. My business partner and I booked for 5 nights on the understanding that we would be satisfied with what was advertised. The first 2 days/nights, we had to take a cold shower after a long day at work due to the boiler not working. We had to pay £10 each to use the shower facilities at the nearest gym which was a huge inconvenience for us. We informed the host of this. It would have been courteous and professional to compensate for the charge of the shower at the gym at the least, but she was entirely disinterested. A guest arrived and was mortified that there was no hot water to wash. She was not happy that she was not alerted about this prior to arriving at the property! I expect this was the case for us too. Breakfast was put out on the first day (very minimal) then we brought our own breakfast for the remaining days. Also, the host demanded a £150 deposit AFTER we had already arrived. This was not stipulated in the booking requirements. We travel a lot around the UK so we have a good awareness of standards.
