Booking ?

"The best things in life are the kind and the simple."

9.0

The location is one of the best possible in El Cuyo. It is pet friendly. King bed is much appreciated. Clean. The host is a gem, well-versed, and speaks multiple languages. There was a small refrigerator in our room, which is always a perk for us. The wifi was actually excellent if you just bounce on the 3 different options depending on what area of the hotel you are in at the moment. The second floor with all the marble tile flooring, separately arranged spaces for hanging out and the hammocks with peekaboo ocean view and breeze is a must chill spot for some of your time. We actually loved the next level up rooftop at night as the sky is so clear due to there being so much less light pollution in El Cuyo. It was quiet during our stay and guests seemed to all be conscious to close doors lightly, not drag chairs and tables around in the upper floor. We had no disrupting issues as I had read in one other person's comments. The host, Federico, did remind us of this fact, that you want to be mindful of others below when you are on upper levels, which was very good of him to do so that all can enjoy uninterrupted.

The bathroom was dark. The roof top was sparce (hurricanes happen and affect properties, naturally), but it is still a wonderful spot for sky dazing and the second level makes up for it during the daytime.

"Not recommended! Cuidado!"

1.0

WARNING! nothing, a complete misrepresentation and extreme lack of professionalism and basic courtesy.

grossly misrepresented. There are not 2 bedrooms! I bed is in the kitchen, facing the toilet! The latch between kitchen and salon, with another bed, is broken. AC only in one space and ineffectual fans in both, insufficient to move air, and no vents, so no airflow. No fans in common areas! Old, dilapidated furniture throughout, nowhere to put clothes, no closet. Says for 3 adults, but only 1 chair at kitchen table! Curtains are falling apart, literally! Shower barely gets you wet, quite useless. Neighbours very loud, with a live band at 01h27 a.m.! Owner never gave us a key, we had to search for ourselves, room was not ready at time advised, he suggested we urinate on the street after a long drive to arrive :( He laughed at us and at our commentary. We requested a cancelation and refunnd for 50% of the next night, he refused and said he enjoyed our duscomfort, in writing. Not accepting any responsability and lieing about the situation. No wifi, no Netflix, no TV. Slick cheap toles, a danger with water and sand, no hose to rinse off with... The list is endless, It is a flop house, worth about 12 bucks, old linens that would not be used as rags anywhere else...the owner is a slum lord, a liar. He asked us to wait to refund, and after a few hours, we left. Terrible experience, not recommended...just plain cheap.

"Total disconnection, amazing views, and a huge sunburn, just what we needed."

10.0

The things that are most easily highlighted are number 1, its owner Federico, a super funny and friendly person who clearly loves his place, and his life in this little corner of heaven. He is amazing, always there and available, he treats you in this hotel as if you were a guest coming to his house, and he wants you to feel welcome, supported, and free. The second thing is the location, just can't get better than this, a few steps away from the amazing beach, all clear land, lots of space where to sit and enjoy, right in the middle of where the best sunsets and sunrises happen every single day. Everything is within walking distance.

Hot water can take a few minutes to come out, but this is understandable due to the ecological system put in place by Federico, which had him certified for all the eco-friendly actions he added to the property, so if I wait a couple of minutes for the hot water to come out but in exchange I get to take better care of this amazing place, count me in. If you're bringing your own car and won't use it for the day or so, bring a cover for it as it can be windy and your car will get super dusty in a day or two.

Thank you for looking after us. The location was perfect, very quiet but close to the village centre. The beach was 1 minute across the street.

"Ok for one night stay for cheap rate but nothing else."

4.0

Nicely located close to town and the beach, but you need transportation to reach it if you have luggage as we did as roads are very sandy. No taxi around. Comfortable beds.

The bathroom is a nightmare! The Sink is spilling water everywhere on the floor as it is handmade and not a real sink. It ends up with you walking on a wet humid floor constantly. Friendly staff but not very helpful.
