Casa Gajah Hotel Cuyo

Friendly and helpful staff. Small and quiet room with ac, fan and small fridge. Several spots around the place to relax including rooftop terrace. Great tips from the host to help you get around. The beach is very close by, less than 100 metres walk.

Federico is an exceptional host and the location is just 1 block from the gorgeous beach. The kitchen was well-stocked and the balcony area has a lot of seating options, including couches, dining tables and chairs, and hammocks. The apartment is very spacious with 3 separate living spaces. Love that it is pet-friendly!

The rooftop area was basic with a few tables and chairs, and that's about it. With it being the only floor that has a Seaview, it would be nice to be able to hangout on the roof. Although, we were told the recent hurricane blew the roof off, so that will probably be rectified going forward.

I won't say much about the place, it's as described - it's basic but has everything you need, beautiful terrace, 3 minutes to the beach. I want to say about the people who run it: Federico and Elkin, you made our stay a truly welcoming experience, it felt like home away from home! Such caring warm people, they treated us like friends who came to visit, not just customers. If you like quiet pristine nature, genuine warm people, highly recommend staying at Casa Gajah. I hope to be back and spend even more time there.

There are so many mosquitoes there, take lots of spray! Unfortunately, we couldn't fully enjoy the terrace and the beach because of that...

The hostel exceeded my expectations by far. We got a free upgrade from Federico, the owner, and he's been so lovely and kind to us from the very beginning. Communication has always been very fast and helpful. Also, the hostel is right at the beach and close to the main road which is full of restaurants, shops, a lovely park etc. All in all I highly recommend to stay at Casa Gaja for the good vibes, amazing staff and closeness to the beautiful beach. I fell in love with El Cuyo and definitely will come again and stay here!

Casa Gajah is very well located, just a stone's throw from the center and the beach. The house has an incredible roof-top where we loved spending time. We also met the owner, who is a very friendly person. We'd like to thank him for his warm welcome.

The only negative point was that the room was very dark. The main light was so dim that we felt like we were living in the dark. But otherwise everything was perfect.

Federico is a great host. He is so friendly and makes you feel like a family member. El Cuyo was an awesome experience for me and my family. We will definitely come back to Casa Gajah and el Cuyo.

Federico was a super good host, we were supposed to stay one night but we decided to add one night just because it was a pretty chill vibe. Elkin from the staff was really good and welcoming, we would have stayed more if we had more time. I recommend it!

Very nice hotel and clean and comfortable. Beach is a short walk down a sandy path. Very quiet relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a place to unwind and disconnect from the outside world. Loved El Cuyo !!

What an exceptional place! We couldn’t have asked for better. It’s in an area where the locals live. The place was clean and quiet and the employee is so pleasant and friendly. He helped several times for certain necessities. The room is very big with a practical kitchenette. The terrace in front of our room was quite a nice place to sit in the evening, as well as the rooftop. We had a view of the sea which is about 200 metres away. At every corner you have convenience stores and restaurants.
