Casa Gajah Hotel Cuyo

I loved Casa Gajah’s close proximity to the miles-long uninterrupted beach, just a short 1 block walk away. I enjoyed long walks on the beach, watching the sunrise, and collecting shells (the beach is the most amazing beach for shelling that I’ve ever encountered -I came home with lots of “treasures”, lol). The owner Federico is a friendly soul who makes guests immediately feel welcome and like family, and his sweet and kind assistant King is also very helpful. The on-site dog Spartacus (“Sparta”) is such a gem -so well behaved, respectful and sweet. I appreciated the positive energy in the hotel, and enjoyed the special design touches throughout, such as the bathroom design and color in my room. The Italian restaurant a short walk from the hotel is not to be missed -delicious food and pasta made from scratch. I enjoyed my stay at Casa Gajah so much that I ended up extending for another night! It’s an amazing value for your stay!

Problem with the door lock while we were there but we still felt safe. The door to the community rooftop terrace did not close entirely or lock. The kitchen area and one bedroom were one room. So when we had to use the bathroom we had to pass through the same room with the other bed to get into the bathroom?

A wonderful, dreamy place that takes you on a fantastic journey through incredibly beautiful surroundings. Everything is as in the description, but even more beautiful.

It's a shame we didn't stay longer.

It’s a very rare case, but I’m amazed with my stay in Casa Gajah. We planned to stay for 1-2 days, but spent here almost a week. The host, Frederick, was super friendly, El Cuyo is a nice expats village with a lot of nice restaurants, long free beach with almost no people. The property has amazing terrace with fantastic sea view and hammocks. Very nice!

The hotel was just perfect. Small and cozy with a roof top with ocean view and a good place to watch sunset and do yoga. Hammocks and nice places to sit everywhere. The hotel is situated very close to good restaurants and at the mire quite area of the beach. And of course Federico was a fantastic host!
