The Snug, Beautiful Country Retreat

Very pretty house in a beautiful location.

Could hear scratting and movement possibly animals in the roof at night, that kept me awake.

The location to Bath is great and we could easily get to the park and ride. The location is very peaceful and the cottage has great potential.

External lighting was poor. There was signage at the bottom of the drive asking you not to drive up to the property which is on a steep hill and is not lit. In the dark it wasn’t clear where to park even though there is ample parking outside the cottage. I received a lot of emails from the company managing the property, some were a bit passive aggressive such as ‘before you contact us, think if you already know the answer’. The cottage has great potential - it is beautiful but could do with a deep clean - there is lots of dust and cobwebs, the carpets are worn, the curtains in my room weren’t hung properly and one of the sofas could do with being replaced. Simple things like having a small set of matching water glasses and wine glasses would help when there is more than one guest staying.

No water (at all) from hot tap in kitchen sink. Contacted team but no reply. Apart from that, everything was good.

Property hadn't been cleaned when we arrived. Felt it was tired and needed up grading. Curtain on stair kept falling done needing tefiximg. Kitchen hot water tap came out as a dribble. Property described as Priston, presumably to sound close to Priston Mill. But in actual fact it is in Dunkerton. As a result of the above it was over priced Would NOT stay again . Was inundated with unneeded and contradictory messages from cleaning company

The house itself has its own rural charm and is located in a small, quiet village. We didn't have very high expectations, as we only spent mornings and evenings in the house - the beds were good and the water in the shower was warm. The internet was very intermittent, but we got used to it (this is the countryside:).

We didn't expect hotel-level cleanliness, but the windows were very dirty. Also, the booking photos don't show the real position of the house. In reality, the house is located close to the back of another building, where people have stored all sorts of unnecessary things.
