This place is a piece of heaven. The perfect spot to connect with nature, wildlife and relax. The entire staff is excellent, from the owner to the night life guard it was a honor to share these magical moments with their company. Hope to see you soon again.

Amazing little escape, the gardens are gorgeous and the cottages are very cozy. Staff is very kind, we recommend.

Beautiful setting.and interesting history. Room tasteful amd spotlessly clean. Staff polite and attentive. WiFi connectivity good. The gift shop at the bottom of the carpark sells traditional hand made crafts.

It's paradise. Beautiful, amazing landscaping; wildlife such as 3 species of monkeys, zonkeys and water buffalo, lots of birds; lovely accommodations with local African decor and art; staff are excellent and make you feel at home; small pool to cool off after a warm afternoon; owners are fantastic; hospitality next to none.

Theoretically a very lovely lodge with a great garden and a lot of history. If we werent that unlucky with everything, it could really be a great stay.

Our stay was ruined mainly due to the mishandling of expectations beforehand. We were looking for a place to stay for New Year’s Eve, and I was deciding between this hotel and Rivertree across the way. I texted them on WhatsApp to ask if there was anything special planned for New Year’s and whether there was still a sanctuary. I received a pretty rude response, stating there was no sanctuary and no New Year’s event. Since the answer came so late, we had already booked in the meantime and couldn’t cancel. When we arrived, I was further disappointed to find that I was given a room with only a shower, even though the pictures on the booking platform showed a bathtub. I ended up crying out of frustration. Funnily enough, later in the day, we discovered there is a HUGE garden with many different animals! Even if it’s not a sanctuary anymore, why wouldn’t they mention this? To make matters worse, there was indeed a special New Year’s Eve dinner and free-flowing Prosecco, which we were not informed about. I seriously don’t understand the misinformation we received. The lodge itself is beautiful but very loud as it’s directly on the main road. Some rooms are farther back and might be quieter, but you can still hear the noise, even by the pool. Additionally, the pool area lacks enough beach chairs—there were only three for so many people, leaving others to sit on the floor at the side of the pool.
