Hares Corner

The photos don’t do it justice! This quaint little accommodation, in such a beautiful, artistic, well-kept garden is an absolute delight! Karen, the host, was wonderful, friendly, great with communication and she has a lovely dog that played in the garden with mine .

There was nothing that we didn’t like, it was perfect

Karen was absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. We were attending a wedding nearby and this was by far the best place we could have stayed to make our weekend complete. Just wish we could have spent more time at Hares Corner!

Wonderful and peaceful garden in a nice village

Not signposted so unable to locate easily. I was informed 24 hours before there would be a £35 cleaning fee for a one night stay because I was bringing a dog. Too late at this point to cancel and find somewhere cheaper given that I'd paid £160 for the accommodation up front. We arrived at 20.50 after being told en route that check in usually closes at 21.00. Not quite sure what would have happened at 21.05 if I'd turned up and not being allowed to "check in" which was basically to get the key oh and collect the £35 cleaning fee for my 12 hour occupation of the property with a non hair shedding dog. I have never paid so much for my dog to stay anywhere overnight. I really struggle to understand what amount of extra cleaning justifies £35. Following this review the owner contacted me by text to say it was in my terms and conditions for the cleaning charge. No it isn't and the advert on this property states no charge for pets. Given that the request for the cleaning charge was linked to the "let me know if you're bringing a pet" I'd interpret subsequent answers to me that the owner doesn't charge for pets as somewhat sneaky.

Bathroom rather too small for big people

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Karen very kindly left us some Prosecco, snacks and breakfast essentials, which was a lovely touch. The location was ideal for exploring Chichester and the Sussex coast. The village pub was a 5-minute walk away (if that)

To get to the accommodation, you have to walk through the garden and along a path (which I did notice when I booked). However, this wasn't ideal in a wet, windy December, especially at night. The garden was beautiful, though, and I could imagine enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine outside the property in less blustery weather.
