Piazza Maggiore Santa Margherita Rooms

Great location. Very comfortable apartment. One of the better apartments we’ve stayed in whilst in Bologna.

Be warned that there are a lot of stairs to the property and no lift, which may pose a problem for some guests.

The location was great, a five minute walk to Piazza Maggiore. Enrico was at the door to greet us and show us the rooms which were quite a climb up to the third and fourth floor. The rooms were charming and spacious with a pretty leafy terrace at the top, lovely for an evening glass of wine. Small but good shower cubicle with products provided. A very convenient bar and a cafe with excellent pastries within 50 metres.

We had booked 'breakfast included' but I had to ask for cups, teabags,milk and glasses for our wine on the terrace. It seemed that my persistent requests irritated our host . We couldn't get on with the coffee machine and wound up buying our own teabags and fresh fruit. This did not spoil our stay which we thoroughly enjoyed .

Great central location, minutes away from the main square. Easy check in and friendly, helpful host. Bathroom very clean.

Worth noting that only the bedroom was able to be locked, the living area and bathroom were seperate and not entirely secure from other apartments, however this was not an issue for us and the place still felt private and secure.

Had a great time in this apartment! Renovated, clean, comfortable. The entire floor (bedroom, living room, sitting area, bathroom) was available only to us. The bedroom was additionally locked. Every evening, the owner left us a full breakfast package for the next morning. A wonderful terrace with deckchairs, a table and flowers. Location in the very center of Bologna. Very helpful and friendly host on arrival. Quirky apartment on top floor (no lift!) Lovely little terrace garden off the bedroom where we sat each morning for breakfast. Nicely furnished with arty pictures and ornaments and a few plants. Felt very homely. Great to have a kettle to make tea and coffee and the host provided a refillable bottle of water, refilled daily. Fridge in the room too. Bathroom had a good shower, all very clean and modern. Nice to have a sitting area other than the bedroom

Be aware the apartment is 5 floors up, not great if you don't like stairs or are not particularly fit. The way the apartment is built there is an open wall with partial screens to the apartment below and no door to lock for privacy/security other than your bedroom door which means you have to lock the door at night and unlock if you need the loo in the night. Breakfast was ok, as good as it could be considering the limitations of providing goods which are prepacked. Yogurts, croissants, crispbread, jams etc plus orange juice in a carton and fresh fruit on one occasion. Restocked daily.

The apartment was beautiful and we had a lovely stay with everything we needed, fresh water and continental breakfast delivered every day, we had the bonus of a beautiful balcony, a sun trap and very relaxing! Perfecto! 😊

It was all good 👍 the stairs to the top were a good work out every evening after the pasta and vino! 🍷🚶
