Belakang Kong Heng Ipoh Hotel

Right in the old quarter of ipoh and downstairs the plan B bar & restruant for western food & coffee was great! The 2 chinese temples are worth visiting but cameron highlands was 2 hours away.

After travelling thailand & vietnam over the last few years this was the worse accommodation I’ve stayed at. Be careful as there are 3 different types within the premises! I wont go back!

Absolutely perfect location, right in the heart of Old Ipoh, just above the Book Xcess bookshop. Very cool industrial chic rooms, huge, with great fixtures and fittings. Our room was at front but had extra window of insulation. Not all rooms have own bathroom so check when booking. Woudl definitely book again there and recommend.

Small details but a hand towel in addition to bathtowels. A couple of mugs in addition to glasses for hot drinks.

So so noisy in the rooms next door! You can hear everything - them having a shower, going to the toilet, speaking. I also had a very inconsiderate couple next door to me who spoke very loudly on the phone and late at night. I wanted to really like it as the rooms are cool and the decor/concept is great, but the noise meant it was impossible. It was fine at night with earplugs in, but not when you’re relaxing in the room - also the cleaner’s son sits in the hallway watching loud videos throughout the day!! Someone also seems to trim the hedges with an electric trimmer at 7:30 every morning.

Location was fantastic, and room was clean and cosy!

The walls are a bit thin so I could hear my neighbours eg when they came back after 12am and took a shower. I'm a light sleeper so I struggled to fall asleep for awhile

The rooms are not as the photos, on reality it is old and dirty a lot, the sheets and the towels were full of yellow black and red types of dirt.

- centrally located - big shower

- there is no door to shower and toilet. It is only separated by a transparent curtain - light in the corridor was always on (be prepared to bring a sleeping mask) - the light in the room itself was poor - pool is overrated and looks only good on pictures - little space for 2 persons

Love the pool and location. Foliage was wonderful respite

Was noisy at night and layout too basic for the price. Couldn’t choose the rooms. Maybe the pool rooms would have been quieter / better layout?
