Haveli Dharampura & Golden Haveli- UNESCO awarded Boutique Heritage Hotel

The hotel was the most wonderful haven in amongst some crazy surroundings, but this added to the overall stay and helped us enjoy our time in Delhi. The food was wonderful and the hotel offered extra entertainment such as indian dancing, live musicians and kite flying. I would definitely recommend.

When we arrived it was difficult to find the hotel from the main road. You have to walk down some streets, which is daunting if you don't know the city

The hotel is only accessible by walking through narrow alleyway. In the night there are homeless people sleeping on the street and not safe to walk. You have to contact the hotel to send someone to pick you up from the Main Street. And during the day the Main Street is extremely busy again super difficult to leave by car. For the price you pay they don’t have free bottled water in the room, only pre-filled glass bottles. Not worth the price.

Het is opzich een leuk en authentiek hotel in Old Delhi; een plek waar niet veel hotels zitten. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en alles wat je nodig hebt in een hotel is in principe aanwezig.

Dat gezegd hebbende ligt je hotel op een onprettige locatie. Je loopt door een vieze steeg heen om bij het hotel te komen; afval, zwervers en vieze geurtjes (vooral s’avonds erg grimmig). Ik zou zeker zeggen dat het onveilig is voor vrouwelijke reizigers. Daarnaast zijn de foto’s enigszins misleidend. Het hotel is gerenoveerd maar niet zo mooi als je foto’s doen denken; losse spotjes in de vloer, kamers zijn een beetje oud en viezig en wc loopt slecht af. Ontbijt was ook erg teleurstellend omdat het erg klein is en ongekoeld. Ook hadden wij voor 4000 roepie de heritage tour geboekt, we dachten dat we via het hotel een onafhankelijk guide zouden krijgen, maar het was duidelijk dat hij ons naar plekken bracht waar de prijzen hoger waren voor de toeristen. Daarnaast moesten we toegang tot de moskee ook nog eens apart betalen (850 roepie voor 2 personen). Heritage tour is dus geen aanrader. Kort gezegd, dit hotel is oké voor een authentieke ervaring in Delhi, ik zou het echter niet aanraden voor meer dan twee nachten wegens de locatie. Persoonlijk zou ik het hotel niet als een vijf sterren hotel omschrijven, eerder vier sterren (in India).

Fantastic location in teh Old Town and close to all the sights. An amazing property to stay in and to explore. Staff were very welcoming and the food was great,

The room was smaller than expected but very nice. Great bathroom.

Struttura meravigliosa, proprio come un antico haveli

La stanza che ci avevano dato inizialmente era davvero piccola al primo piano, due persone con i bagagli non ci stavano. Nella stessa categoria di stanza le mie oche avevano stanze più grandi e confortevoli. Ma dopo aver segnalato la cosa e insistito un po’, ci hanno dato un upgrade in una stanza molto bella e spaziosa al secondo piano.

Hotel particolare in un edificio storico. Belle iniziative di intrattenimento (aquiloni, musica, danze). Ottima prima colazione con servizio ottimo.

Camera piccola con letto corto. Consiglio di prendere la camera di dimensioni maggiori. Alla sera non è consigliato uscire se non accompagnati.

A beautiful property located in the heart of Old Delhi. Excellent restaurant albeit a bit expensive.

There was no mention as far as I could see that guests had to walk to the hotel as taxis cannot get through.
