"The surreal experience of Wadi Rum"

10.0

It was one of the best experiences of my life. I went to see the meteors and it was so unbelievable it is located inside the reservation and they drive you into the desert for an hour there is no internet or reception you are totally out of offline it is so liberating the night sky is amazing you feel like you are part of the universe. The owner Salameh is so accommodating I asked the staff if they had orange juice and they didn't the next day I woke up and found cold orange juice and a bottle of water. He is so not about the money like the rest, I stayed 5 days and I payed 50 jd for everything no hidden fees. If you are into yoga and meditation or star gazing or a time for reflection there is no better place by the way this is my 3rd time whenever I feel like it's all too much i go there and time slows down. What can I say it is truly magical.

"Salameh is a guy you can rely upon. Our daughter fell off her camel. Salameh immediately drove us to the hospital in Aqu"

In the heart of wadi rum desert. Very comfortable stay: good beds, very clean, friendly staff and the diner buffet-style was exceptionally good.

All was fine. No complaints

Salameh was a lovely host and messaged regarding time of pick-up and where to meet. The rooms were very spacious and had a lovely terrace out front. Many of the other camps we drove by didn't seem to have this. The food was very nice as well! The shower was WARM/HOT with good pressure. The common area was super cute and cozy and very well kept. They had a fire area outside which they will use if it's not too windy. The 8 hour tour was good, but be sure to bring a book or something as you stop for 2-2.5 lunch/rest time. We saw many of the famous/popular sites and also came across a herd of camels, where we stopped and got some up close pictures. The entire area of wadi rum is stunning.

Be careful when driving to the meeting point, there are some serious speed bumps and potholes, that even when driving extremely slow the car still scraped a bit :( Overall a really nice experience!

"Quiet camp to relax"

10.0

Nice small authentic camp. Spacious Tent with comfy big bed, toilet and shower inside, very clean. Outside two chairs to chill while looking at the desert. Dining area where people meet at breakfast and dinners, good food, large portions. Our guide Mo-mo was like a good friend.

Owner seemed to be very stressed. Tour prices could be cheaper. Could be nice if we have shisha and music evenings to integrate and know more local culture. You can hear your neighbours so no loud noises at night time please 🙂

"Beware of Thieves!"

1.0

Wadi Rum is a beautiful place it's such a shame our experience was so bad. My AirPods were stolen, they were in a pouch that was zipped closed, the case came with a lanyard which i looped through the zip so to remove them someone would have to create a loop big enough for the AirPods case to fit through, there is no way they would become loose and go for a walk by themselves. I definitely had them with me when we arrived at the camp so either someone stole them from my room (which I kept locked) or during the Jeep tour they organised for us. During the tour our "guide" would drop us off, tell us to go somewhere and then stay with the car so he had ample time alone to go through our things (other guides we saw would actually show people around and take photos for them). Once we finished the tour my bag was safely locked in the boot of our car until we got to our next destination where I noticed my AirPods were missing. We contacted the owner of the camp that evening, I told him they were missing and he said he would look for them but never got back to me after that. Not that surprising because his attitude right from booking the trip has been poor, he sees his guests as cattle to be milked for as much money as he can, even without the theft this was a really unpleasant experience and an expensive lesson for me to trust my gut next time and just cancel.

It's very strange that this place has such a high rating and it wouldn't surprise me if something fishy was going on. Some of the highlights of our stay: * Impossible to nail down a price, the owner contacted me on WhatsApp to offer a jeep tour and as soon as I asked for a price stops talking to me. * Woke up a few days before we were due to arrive, but every time I tried to confirm a price he would change his mind, and it would go up for silly reasons like booking.com told him there were 4 people coming and we are only 2, come on man. * When we meet he tells us the plan which includes lunch, I ask if lunch is included in the price we agreed, no it's extra 10 JD each, I decline. * The camp has a really unfriendly atmosphere, the staff who are all men, sit in the middle and talk to each other while the guests sit awkwardly around them and eat dinner. * When it comes time to pay suprise suprise he doesn't have any change even though he insists on being paid in cash, wants to keep the £20 extra, eventually he finds some change. There are so many camps in Wadi Rum, you can do better than this place.

I can honestly say that it was one of the best experiences of my life. The camp is located in the heart of Wadi Rum, and it offers stunning views of the desert landscape. The staff at the camp, led by Salameh, were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The traditional Bedouin tent was spacious and clean. The tents are equipped with private bathrooms. The food at the camp was also excellent. We were served traditional Jordanian cuisine, which was delicious and authentic. The highlight of our stay was the desert jeep tour that we took with Ahmed. He was an excellent guide, and he took us to some of the most beautiful spots in Wadi Rum. We saw towering sandstone cliffs, otherworldly rock formations, and the day was finished by incredibly relax with tea in the middle of desert. I would highly recommend Salameh's Bedouin Camp to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in the desert.

"Overall, a good experience in a beautiful place. They’re very friendly"

The staff were very friendly and the camp was very nice

After booking, without chance of cancellation, they change the price which has to be paid on cash on arrival and the credit card as back up on Booking. They should post the real price
