Staff were fantastic. The food and ale selection was extensive and local. And the couldnt have asked for a better check in process and check out. Nice and straightforward from start to finish. 10/10 Would recommend.

Shower pressure was something to be desired but was nice and hot and clean so cant really complain. Especially considering that the inn is the oldest in Ambleside and Id therefore suspect the pressure is subject to ancient plumbing. No other complaints.

Really friendly welcome from the staff, we had received a message in advance as we had booked their small room to let us know which was great customer service. The room itself was really cosy, it didnt feel overly small and was very comfortable. The pub itself is fantastic, and its right in the middle of Ambleside. Would definitely stay here again!

This is in a great location and the pub is lovely

The rooms do need some attention.They are very tired . The windows didn’t shut properly in our room and the radiator was turned off so for November it’s a bit cool . We did only stay for 1 night so managed ok I have seen some reviews saying that it’s having a refurb so hopefully all will be resolved soon .

Cozy and comfortable

Not much of an issue but the bathroom is quite small and the shower a bit of a squeeze. Can get quite noisy with all the rooms so close together.

The location. Loved the pub underneath. Very sociable, great food, vibe, friendliness. Good live music.

No parking. Not enough coffee, milk etc for 3 nights.

Oldest hotel in Ambleside?? Lots of character, friendly welcoming staff (mimi I think it was)

The shower wasn’t great so staying with my wife would be uncomfortable for my ears, worth some investment but value for money overall so was fine
