The rooms are comfortable and clean, the lady behind the bar was very helpful and friendly. It’s central to everything in Ambleside and food and drinks are great

Bathroom is a little tired but everything works as it should

Very traditional, friendly staff, great location

As recognised by the hotel themselves, this is an old building, and is overdue some renovation. The bar area has now gone 'through' being dated and come out the other side and it's now full vintage 😆, but with a modern beer selection. No parking at the hotel, but plenty in town and wasn't an unknown feature. This is a pub, in the middle of Ambleside. Don't be surprised to hear loud voices and other associated noises at 2300-0000hiurs.

Excellent location in town centre. The man who checked us in was very friendly and pleasant.

The room was extremely small. No TV. Felt very tired and dated. Beds uncomfortable and only 1 pillow.
