DEThe guesthouse is a small family business just consisting of two bungalows which immediately gives a private atmosphere. The safari is optional and has to be paid on top, organized by a cooperating family business. Both, accommodation and the safari were really worth the money. The bungalow and the whole place are organised in a very efficient (facilities, practical arrangements etc.) and yet very tasteful manner. Optional home-made dinner was served in a beautiful pavillion just next to our bungalow. The curry was amazing and the amount of food more than enough. Next morning, we were picked up for a 4-hour safari in time. We saw many elephants and other animals and our driver was a good spotter and smart tracker. A quick Sri Lankan breakfast (included) was served during the tour, arranged in front of a small river. After the safari, we still had time to take a shower and check-out calmly. The owner is also helpful in organising options to leave Udawalawe. An insider's tip that really deserves it's name!
ITThis was one of the most amazing places weâve stayed, especially for such a great price! The clay hut was fantasticâspotlessly clean and filled with the delightful scent of cinnamon. The dinner was absolutely delicious, and the safari arranged by our host was truly unforgettable. We would definitely book with them again!

GBWe had a lovely 2 nights in our clay hut. It was so clean and cosy with a lovely bathroom that had a hot powerful shower. Bed was also very comfortable and had great wifi and air con! The hosts are so lovely and cooked us breakfast and dinner each day and arranged us a great safari!! The host also drove us to the nearest swimming spot for a swim in the lake! Amazing accommodation especially for the price, Thank you!

AUThis was our favourite stay throughout our whole time in Sri Lanka. Amazing value for money with everything you need - hot shower, air con, spacious room, mosquito net, fan. It was perfect! Dinner at the guest house was also amazing. We did our safari through them and it was 10/10. Would recommend this stay to everyone planning to go to Udawalawa.

GBA charming, rustic place in a quiet location that has a lovely feel to it. Perfect for a couple of nights to relax and see the national park. Great hospitality. Very clean and with good sized bedroom, comfortable bed with mosquito net and nice sized bathroom with good shower. The room had wonderful smell of cinnamon. The walk to town is a few miles but pleasant and the option to have dinner at the Clay house is good. They can arrange safari for you.
Breakfast was fine but would have liked a choice as very rice based.
