Location by the canal was lovely and the room was very clean and comfortable

The staff couldn’t answer questions without checking with someone else. Food was very expensive ( sirloin steak £42.50) we originally ordered a steak but cancelled it when told the price. Menu wasn’t clear about prices, even the staff had trouble. Ordered a pie and asked if I could have chips instead of new potatoes. I received a side of chips instead, when I questioned this the manager kinda shrugged and said we didn’t make it clear. Well I think‘can I have chips instead of new potatoes’ is very clear. The meal was so salty I couldn’t eat it, in response to this the manager said she’ll let the chef know. No apology or an offer of a complimentary drink or dessert. The Caesar salad was £21.50, it was a bowl of iceberg lettuce, chicken and bacon on top with a sprinkle of cheese. It’s a pub, not a fancy restaurant. Nearly forgot, 2 drinks £20. The room was lovely but I highly recommend eating somewhere else.

Absolutely Spotless room, good facility’s, great staff and additional care with a potable AC in the room due to the hot weather.

We absolutely loved the location, lovely walks by the canal with our little dog. We stayed two nights for our granddaughters wedding held at The Great Barn Aynho. Very happy with the hotel, especially as they are 100% dog friendly! I have to say all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Always a smile! The lovely lady who cleaned the room was exceptionally helpful, we had a few ants visit our room on the first night and when reported, this lovely lady cleaned and sprayed our room and the following evening not an ant in sight. She was so incredibly helpful and accommodating. The staff in the bar, the food and the service throughout our stay were all 100%. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel and we hope to visit again in the future. Thank you.

We received a friendly welcome. The room was very clean and well equipped. It was located by a private entrance with easy access to the car park. We made a reservation for our evening meal, there is an array of home cooked food on the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our choices. If you are in no rush to leave early in the morning, I recommend the cooked breakfast, prepared with good quality produce. Although it is not served until 10am, it is worth the wait.

There was early morning noise from local traffic and also the railway line that is close by, therefore noise from passing trains was quite frequent, however that was to be expected due to location of the property.

The location was great, our rooms were comfortable and clean. We had rooms 2 and 4. These were both of the same standard, however my sister had room 1 which was far superior however we paid the same price. As we were only there one night it wasn’t an issue but if we were staying there for a few days I would have been disappointed in the difference in the standard of the rooms for the same price per night. The exterior of the property was very picturesque.
