The Presidential Inn at Poland Spring Resort

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Grounds were very nice and other guests were pleasant. Bed was comfortable and linens were clean. The area around the golf course and grounds were clean and very well maintained.

The building was very dated and there was no elevator. Carrying luggage up the numerous steps was difficult. When my wife turned on the shower the shower head came flying off and almost hit her. To sum it up we definitely will not stay there again.

Would have liked some darkening shades.

Loved the grounds, and nicely maintained property outside. I liked that I was able to make a last minute change to my room to get a ground level unit instead of one on the second floor. The Booking .com website didn't mention that there were no elevators in the building that I was to be staying in.

Shower curtain was too short for shower, and the water would run out of the shower onto the floor easily. We informed staff about the issues, but nothing was done about it while we were staying in that room anyways, we were only there for two days. We requested X-Tra towels to replace the ones we had to use to wipe up the leaking water from the short shower curtain, and were given what we needed anyhow. Hopefully, the shower curtain will be replaced, it is too short for that shower. Perhaps it was made for handicapped individuals, but it is still to short for that shower.

The resort is beautiful.

There was only one place to eat(Mel's). There should also be an easier way of getting around, such as making golf carts available to guest to get around the resort.

The room was clean. No smoke smells. Was quiet because there was virtually no one else staying there.

The hotel was very dated, and not in a charming New England way. Cheap, thin walls and doors. This place was not worth the price by a long shot. I called a few days in advance to request an early check-in because of timing to get ready for a wedding, but was told that they couldn't accommodate this request because they weren't sure if there would be space. When we arrived, the place was a ghost town, and there was most definitely no one in our room before us.

My husband loves the golf course.

Everything was closed. None of the historical places were open, all the restraints were closed and the golf course was the only activity open was the golf course. The nice rooms on the main property were all closed so we were given a room in the lodge which is down the road. The rooms were clean but very old and small/cramped. You could not have 2 people get ready at the same time there was not enough room. The staff was nice.

Bed was spacious and comfortable.

The depiction of rooms on the internet did not match the actual room. The decor and fixtures were well-worn and of cheap construction. Insufficient lighting, poorly laid out interior, wasted space -- this place needs a top-to-bottom renovation.
