The Lodge at Highlands

'Breakfast' consisted of cheap prepacked croissants and pots of jam. Tea coffee and milk were available alongside juice and water.

This property is NOT what is promised in the description. The accommodation itself is adequate. However the bedding and towels are not of the luxurious standard promised, whilst the sofa cover is ill fitting and the scatter cushions need replacing. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are good. What lets this property down massively is the outside areas! Numerous outbuildings and old childrens play areas that have been left in states of disrepair are dotted about. We didn't use the outside area at all. This is a shame as the woodland feel and wild flowers around could add such a charm and ambience to the property. However, it felt neglected and unloved. For the money we paid we were expecting a lot more and I am left wondering how an average score of 9.7 has come about.

Host was very welcoming, the bed!!!!!! Incredibly comfortable! Bathroom was luxurious and the decking from the afternoon was a sun trap and the added sun loungers were appreciated, the welcome hamper was a great touch! Would stay again!

The property was perfect for our stay the owners had supplied milk and other breakfast essentials. We would certainly stay again if we were in the area.

Absolutely everything, such a lovely,clean, homely place, the lady who greeted us made us feel so welcome, little biscuit/breakfast basket was lovely, variety of refreshments,big bath, bed was very comfortable, lovely views, would 100% recommend and we will definitely be returning in the near future,

Couldn’t fault anything

We had a wonderful stay at The Lodge at Highlands. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, with peaceful views and the constant soundtrack of songbirds. We were lucky enough to spot birds of prey overhead, which made the experience feel even more special and close to nature. The hosts were genuinely friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The facilities were excellent, everything was spotlessly clean, and clearly very well cared for. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the bathroom was lovely and modern. Overall, a relaxing, high-quality stay in a stunning setting and we would happily return and highly recommend it to others.

The lodge itself is beautiful, both inside and outdoors, and the hosts were absolutely brilliant. Easy to find, free parking, and lovely views from the lodge. The interior had everything we needed and we loved the extra nice touches like a stocked up coffee machine, nice toiletries, lovely bedding, etc. Worth every penny and we will definitely be back.

so much attention to detail. bottled water in the fridge, a good quality tower fan, the croissants left out, the small toiletries. the owners of this property clearly care about it and it shows.

Loved the location, so peaceful. Lovely warm lodge with everything you could need and more. Bed huge and comfortable, massive bathroom, and milk/bacon/rolls/croissants very much appreciated. Visitors of horse, squirrels and muntjac was welcomed!
