The property (Columbus) has amazing views being positioned on the brow of a hill. It has facilities like the pizza oven and the hot tub which we were able to use on a couple of occasions. The shower worked well and being off grid there are no load shedding issues. The interior is thoughtfully designed with nice touches. Elretha is very quick to reply to messages / questions.

The position of Columbus pod, whilst having amazing views is compromised by being exposed to extreme winds. These are mentioned in the literature on arrival and not on any booking information. On Sunday 7th April 2024 it tore off the roof and dismantled the wood burner. Thanks to Elretha and Willard, they helped to relocate us to Paarl in an emergency evacuation. A pity that the owners of Untether did not contact us to enquire about our safety and well-being.

Everything....a great place to unwind and reset. Very private and cozy. The cottage has everything you need and is very well thought out. We especially loved the bathroom with the view, the wood fired hot tub and the pizza oven. We absolutely LOVED our stay.

It can get extremely windy but that's nature... We had great weather on the 1st night and day but it just turned crazy the next afternoon. The wind was relentless and blew for 14hrs straight, from late afternoon right through the night till the next morning. It was quite an experience. Also the road to get to the cottage is suited for bakkies and SUV's. Apart from that everything else was perfect.
