The Old Threshing Barn

Location was exactly where we needed to be. The accommodation was spotless everything was catered for (except a pizza cutter lol). Bed was massive, had to text the other half goodnight as she was so far away! Plenty of space, decent size TV, dishwasher, nice oven, underfloor heating will definitely book again if it's available when we go to the area again. Nice subtle Christmas touches. Imagine it would be a nice place to sit outside and have a drink looking over the countryside in the warmer months.

The sloping ceiling over the bed. Nothing can be done about it and it didn't detract from our stay., We both banged our heads sooooo many times that it stopped being funny, but I guess that's our fault for forgetting the ceiling was there lol! A proper fridge freezer would be helpful if you were staying longer, but we were only there 2 nights so it was fine for us having a fridge with a freezer compartment.

The barn was such a lovely place to stay, modern, clean and cosy. The hosts were really helpful and left lovely gifts and touches to make the stay even better.

The only thing to make it better would be some proper bedside lamps and maybe a lamp in the lounge for softer lighting.

Head-room above the bed was a bit low when transitioning from lying to sitting up and vice versa. We got used to it, but it was a touch awkward and we had to remember the height restriction in the coved ceiling each time we approached the head of the bed.

Self catering cottage. Quiet, beautiful location. Warm to walk in to, comfortable furniture, tastefully furnished and very well equipped. Chris, the host, was very accommodating and friendly.

The brown sign for the Old Threshing Barn was very easy to miss. Well, we missed it twice!!! In a three night stay.

A fantastic stay in a peaceful countryside location. Lovely welcome treats left by the hosts and lots of walks and village pubs nearby. Perfect location to visit Southwell and its magnificent Minster. Excellent value for money and we'll be back.

The property was exceptional. We travel a lot and this was one of the best we have ever stayed in. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

There was nothing not to like-we had no concerns at all.
