"Perfectly perfect for us!"

9.0

Location was suburb!!! Also the view was wonderful. Loved the heated towel rails. Proximately to eateries and boat tours.

It’s the little things. Lack of hooks in bathroom, or behind doors for towels, coats etc. (I realise the towel rail was there however, not large enough for all the towels) Awkward to fill kettle as the vanity was so small, a small plastic jug would be useful. Our neighbours were noisy well after the curfew however, quietened down after I politely asked to.

"Don’t do it. More like a hostel while paying hotel prices."

2.0

Shower and comfortable bed. Doesn’t look as bad as it is.

This was very loud room; especially coming from the staff room. Staff room kept us up until at least 1-2 am. Could hear entire conversations. We knew it was staff because we needed help checking in. We stayed in Iona. This room was directly below the staircase so we heard people stomping and screaming all throughout the night in the stairwell. The front door to the building wasn’t locked. This is a self “everything” hotel room and anyone could walk in off the street. Lights in the bathroom didn’t work and no remote for the tv to drown out the noises. Didn’t feel safe with the constant opening and closing of the outer door. Had to put a dresser in front of the door to sleep. I travel a lot and this was worse than any of the 3rd world countries I’ve ever stayed in. I private messaged the hotel all of this as well and it seemed like a stock email answer. I don’t recommend this. Only gave this a 2 for the comfortable bed and no bed bugs.

"Nice place to stay in town"

8.0

Sweet spot looking out over the water. Easy check in with a code given for the room, (not a regular hotel, more like an air b and b, no staff). The room had a good shower and comfortable bed, tea and kettle and place to hang some clothes. It was perfect for a one night stay.

Walls a little thin but people quieted down quickly

"Small clean and tidy room right on the harbour"

7.0

The property was right down on the harbour in those iconic painted buildings Portree is known for. The property was clean and neat.

The lack of parking was challenging, however, we did manage to move our car down to the harbour after 5pm when most of the tourists had home. The lack of a designated area to boil the kettle. It is set up on the window ledge, but there is no Power point. Which means you either have to set the tray up on the floor below the tv to use the power points there, which is dangerous, or try to manage on the very small bedside table, also dangerous. They could have provided a small bowl or cup to put the tea, coffee and sugar in, so we didn’t have to dump it out onto the tray to use the only two cups available. The ensuite has been refurbished, however halfway up the walls are the existing white tiles that have quite a bit of mould present within the grout. This is a health hazard due to mould spores and should be cleaned away. I do understand that it is a challenge due to the bathroom being an internal room without a window and only ventilation is through the small extracting fan, but the tiles need cleaning and treating to kill mould spore.
