Room was ok, decor ok, and was clean

Don’t like leaving reviews as ultimately it’s someone’s business and livelihood but it’s also hard earned money spent and unfortunately it was very poor experience. Not the greatest start after calling the host after the code that was sent for the property didn’t work to collect the key. His attitude was appalling and tried to blame me for the issue (not sure customer service is his forte!) after pulling up and seeing windows with the words of the hotel in, one would assume the door next to this would be the entrance - hence the confusion - the entrance was round the corner, and it was in fact an entrance to another property! Both buildings were painted the same but to be then told that obviously ‘we can’t read the email’ was ridiculous and an easy mistake to make considering after we had found the entrance someone else was on the phone to him! Clearly a mistake that happens regularly and after reading a couple of reviews since it also appears others have had the same problem. Upon hearing the conversation with the other gentleman and the host having the same attitude with this gentleman who’s first language wasn’t English I helped him locate his key and code as otherwise he would still be at the main entrance now probably arguing and being belittled by the host! Room was ok and what you would expect - but then in the morning to be able to hear everything through the walls wasn’t ideal - ie kettle, making of drinks, hairdryers etc - early start it was! Breakfast (continental rated ‘good’) not sure who is rating this, a choice of 4 cereals, a few biscuits, and a couple of yoghurts and juices in the fridge. Obviously was a first come first serve basis so any yoghurts etc that were eaten before you woke weren’t restocked, but there was also no bread, toaster, pastries, cold meats, cheese or fruit … not sure how this is considered continental! Once or if you made breakfast there was also no where to eat it other than on your bed!

Location was great with the views from the balcony. Room was fitted out to a high standard and the breakfast area on each landing was a brilliant addition. Easy access and clear information regarding check in.

Small down point the bed was very squeaky and there was a lot of wind noise.

the location is excellent overlooking the spa and harbour by the whale bones in Whitby. It was central for all the amenities but far enough away from the noise. Nice continental breakfast. Rooms were clean and roomy with plenty of space. The host was excellent (david) really friendlily and helpful. Only downside which wasn't the host fault was one of the residents set the fire alarm off meaning we had to wait for the owner to arrive to switch it off. will definitely return

no fire alarm in the morning beds could be more comfy as the springs squeaked every time you moved the fire alarm going off at 7:30am on easter sunday morning because a resident was cooking

Location, cleanliness & quiet

The bed. It had a bulky foot stead which made too small to lay straight.

Location was superb. Nice comfortable room.

Lots of shampoo. Would have liked more shower gel, but for a 2 night stay was adequate.

Love the location, the ease of collecting the keys and the rooms have everything you need, clean and modern.
