Staff was friendly,good location close to Malang city.

Breakfast could have been better but still ok,old building with the water in the bathroom not going down properly due to a clogged drain.

The location is excellent, close to alun alun and Kayutangan Heritage village.

The staff were helpful and helped with a heavy bag up the stairs and down it again, when I upgraded from the standard to superior room 15 min into the hotel. I also recovered my spectacles that I had left at the breakfast table. The superior and deluxe rooms are upgraded but keep expectations low if you are an international traveller. There is kfc and mcd right across and a movie max with recliner where I watched the new MI sequel. The painted village as well as town square are walking distance as is a large mall. The Malang version of Beverly hills (idjen) is quite a walk but the Alun Alun (poor version of central park, think it means zero mile) is a hop away.

Booking.com should not allow bookings for std rooms for international guests, especially someone not in the teens or 20s. These so called rooms are fit to only rent out by the hour or for local/low budget travellers although for the price there could be better rooms in areas other than city centre. The std room is on 2nd floor with steep steps. The building has no lift. The room has only 1 wall fan and electrical connections are better at my maids 5x10 sq ft house in India. The upgraded deluxe room had weak airflow from ac. Shower water falls onto the commode and bathroom sticks if light cum exhaust button is off. Room had ants so pls do not keep any sweets unsealed. You could have mosquitoes so carry a repellent cream. Water in bottles seems to be hard water as my stomach bloats the moment I have hard water. Did not have any issue at 3 other hotels where I used the water filter in corridor to replenish water supply late/early in the day. . Station is walking distance only if you are having a hand bag. A Grab taxi will be usd1.25. The staff kept asking if someone would be joining me for breakfast or if I had a friend staying with me, which no solo traveller needs be reminded or made uncomfortable about.

Good location, asked to move room because we were accidentally given the wrong room type and the staff moved everything for us while we were out at Bromo - excellent service.

Quite noisy due to the location.
