We had a lovely view of the lake from our window. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. There was a variety of food for the dinner and breakfast buffet. Something for everyone and it was prepared and presented with care. Staff spoke a little English which was helpful since we don’t know much Japanese.

"Comfortable stay with incredible buffet"

The Forest Akan is a well located hotel right beside the lake. The staff were welcoming and the room was comfortable with a lovely view of the lake and mountains. The thing that made this hotel completely memorable was the buffet dinner and breakfast. Nothing could prepare you for the vast array of delicious high quality food ranging from Japanese to western food. They even included locally sourced ingredients in some of the dishes. In all my travels I’ve never experienced anything like it.

"Lakeside View of Lake Akan"

Conveniently located within walking distance of the Tourist Information Center, Visitor Center, Akanko Bus Center, and several restaurants. The reception staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful. Our spacious room featured comfortable beds and a beautiful view of the lake. Breakfast was excellent, with a dedicated counter offering five choices of fresh fruit blends and smoothies. Dinner was equally impressive, with a sumptuous selection of well-prepared dishes.
