The Upper House

Loved this beautiful, completely renovated, modern, spotless apartment, and our incredible host Martha and her lovely housekeeping staff! So nice, so hospitable. Martha assisted us with travel arrangements in getting to her apartment building, she recommended a driver to get us from Bellagio to The Upper House, and she also inquired if we wanted luggage porter service to meet us and take our heavy luggage up the 5 flights of stairs to get to the apartment. That was a definite yes! The porter met us there and our bags were in our apartment before we were. Martha made the entire check-in experience effortless for us. She had a quick sit-down with us to go over the services, local layout, how to get to all the hot spots, the town elevator, features not to miss like the Via del Amore, and the sunset boat tour. She made sure we had everything we needed with information, directions, supplies, etc. She even helped us with dinner reservations. Martha and her staff made us feel like we were in a 5-star hotel and we appreciated all the extra efforts, assistance, and attention to detail. There's a small balcony with our room with an incredible view of the Ligurian Sea & gorgeous views of the village of Riomaggiore too. We loved it. Within close walking distance of many cafe's, restaurants, gelato, and the train too, with a little stroll. Of the 5 villages, Riomaggiore was our favorite, and we're so happy we were lucky enough to have chosen it! And so grateful that we ended up in one of Martha's lovely apartments. She also helped us arrange transportation to Santa Margherita when we were leaving, and once again with luggage service to go down the stairs, and she spoke with our driver in fluent Italian to help make our transition to our next location much smoother. This was not your typical property manager. Martha works her butt off and is a hands-on, 10-star host & manager!! I've never encountered anyone that provides better service.

There's absolutely nothing that we didn't like. But the trek up the many, many stairs to the apartment building are not for the weary. Just make sure you're up for a somewhat steep hillside climb. It's completely worth it because you're at the top of the village and the views are incredible and gorgeous! Seeing the sun set on the village each afternoon & evening is a beautiful thing. No complaints here whatsoever.

Beautiful view, easy to get to via driver.

The property is amazing! It was clean, comfortable and the view from our room was spectacular. The room had all the amenities you would need. Martha was wonderful and so helpful in terms of giving us recommendations, booking us on a boat trip and offering to make restaurant reservations for us, she was always available by WhatsApp and it really did make the stay seamless. All round an incredible place to stay and I would highly recommend!

Pour commencer la chambre est parfaite. Mon seul regret est de ne pas avoir réservé plus tôt pour avoir une vue sur le village. Mais nous avons énormément apprécié le patio privé. Ensuite évidement l’accueil de Martha est chaleureux et son service est irréprochable. Nous n’avons jamais été aussi bien reçu. Martha vous organise votre parcours selon vos envies et la durée de votre séjour. Il n’y a rien à réfléchir et tout est absolument parfait. Suivez tous ses conseils, vous ne serez pas déçus.
