"Probably won’t book again"

6.0

The hotel is beautiful. The staff are very kind and attentive. A short drive to the beach and convenience store.

The location, the drive to the property is not great, it’s unpaved and full of pot holes, a drive that would have taken 3 mins, takes around 10-15 minutes. There is also a lot of mosquitos to the point we never got to use the pool and jacuzzi as we were just getting bit everywhere. There were also some mosquitos in the rooms. It would have been helpful if the hotel provided some mosquito coils or have warned us about them initially. The mosquitos are maybe a seasonal thing though.

"Gem in Tulum's jungle with 5* service"

9.0

Impressed by the human and service quality provided by management and staff, competing with 5* hotels. Exceptional staff with genuine personalities, dedicated to go above and beyond to make you feel at home through authentic care, love and attention. Special shout out to Nata, Chef Mane and their team (incl. Housekeeping) Delicious fine food combined with outstanding service, level the on-site restaurant up to high standards as one can experience the chef's Michelin background. Juan Carlos has provided exceptional costumer service and went out of his way to make me feel taken care of and appreciated during my 1 week stay. Sincere thank you to all of the team for their efforts. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Private pools are well maintained, bird sounds throughout the day and night, beautiful place built in conjunction with nature. 🌴 Great Mattress, well working AC, topped by Starlink wifi. Very spacious private villas. Hot tub area on roof deck is nice with the view on jungle trees: did not make use of it as pool water was warm enough for a night dip. With new services coming up such as a sweat lodge, outside lounge bar, sound and light effects, a massage therapy area in the middle of the jungle accessible through a bridge (Thank you Mariposa for the sound healing massage), this place is a must go to place for anyone seeking to reconnect with nature and recharge batteries, away from Tulum's exhausting and ever present noise. This is a magical place, being shaped into a diamond. 💎

A water dispenser available to guests as a basic amenity many Yucatan places provide would be nice. Basic amenities like salt and pepper in kitchen area would be nice too. closest grocery store is at 2' by car and 10' by bike. Sensitive sleepers: My accommodation, which I loved, had 2 pool water pumps on both walls. One got kindly turned off at night, the other one, belonging to the adjacent villa' pool, unfortunately resonated on the opposite wall. A timer could maybe fix this? Spacious fridge in room is quite noisy. Had to unplug it over night. Sad to mention that within this amazing staff setting, the front office person stands out lacking service personality and solution oriented mindset. He managed to make me feel uncomfortable when mentioning a few issues, even though he tried to slightly turn it around after receiving heads up. The little positive efforts I could have shared about this staff member were unfortunately cancelled by his unprofessional attitude which went on until check-out. Side note: Most of the bumpy road, with the biggest pot holes, can be avoided by taking the road parallel to it!

"Beautiful property but they’re working out the kinks!"

6.0

Staff was really nice and quickly responded to our issues. The grounds were very nice, our room was quite large.

We didn’t have running water a couple times, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and the restaurant never seemed like it was open.

"Good facility bad experience"

4.0

Clean rooms and facilities as the photos

It was super hard to arrive with unpaved roads, electricity stopped during our visit, with the rain there were water leaks and water stopped 2,3 times . The staff were nice but when electricity stopped there was no wifi and no signal so no way to contact the staffs and took around 15 mins for anyone to arrive and attend us in the dark. They changed rooms for us later, but overall experience was not good

Everything has been simply outstanding. The location (the hotel is in a secluded part of Tulum in the jungle but few minutes by car from the main beach clubs), the room (very big and with a nice private swimmingpool) and the service, especially our meals at Distrito Maya, the restaurant of the hotel. The chef prepared refined and gourmet maya dishes for us and went extra-mile creating romantic and suggestive setting and mise en place for our last dinner. Unforgettable

Nothing

"Perplexe since we expected to relax which wasn’t the case"

7.0

The property is well designed. The privacy between the villas. Our villa had a jacuzzi and a swimming pool. The co-owner Juan Carlos welcomed us warmly and was even kind to bring the dinner since we arrived late. Check in was amazing and to discover the villa when you arrive is wonderful. Maya shower outside is an amazing experience as well

The road is bumped for about 10 minutes. It is better to have a good big car. If you search a location easy to move, that’s not the right place to stay. We always managed to get out for the whole day, once, to avoid the drive on this road. The next days, Juan Carlos left and we had to face other employees: - our toilette was clogged at 21h (and flash didn’t work either) so we couldn’t use our restroom and it’s a long and uncomfortable way to drive outside from this area. Same time electricity and water were cut (in the whole town). No WiFi then and it’s a no-network area. The employee said there is nothing to do, he’s in the same situation which I understand and he’s not a WC technician. (Come on he’s employee but we paid for the facility, at least the restroom is part of minimal necessity, especially when you stay at a « private » villa). There’s nothing to do and he pursued smoking his cigarette. We had to argue with the employee to make him understand that the restroom has to be repaired since we can’t go to the toilet and can’t wait the technician next day. Finally, after 40 minutes someone came with the suction cup - When we did our check-out, the same employee accused us of an outstanding bill. We had 2 breakfast and paid directly the same mornings. He had only one payment. He was starring at us and waiting our payment with no action to understand how could that be already paid and no-registered. He was always mentioning he’s not responsible for anything. We had to call the breakfast personal that had to come. He didn’t remember our payment (we paid him by cash in his direct hands). After a while and argues, he said « OK » which means they accept the fact that we paid but we really did. So after another while, he assumed the money was in the kitchen. Note that the water pression is low and water was constantly cut during our stay (we could barely go to restroom)
