DANU HOUSE UBUD

I had a whole house with all the facilities you need and a host that made my holiday like coming home to my favorite place on earth. Whenever there was a need of transport either Mita’s father or her husband were there to drive me or get some things I could not carry. They always were ready to give tips on finding colorful ceremonies, places to eat, drink, shop, getting massages or whatever I had in mind to do. The breakfast Mita prepared was delicious and always garnished with little treats from the Balinese cuisine. I was staying there for two wonderful months with the feeling of being part of the family.

For me everything was wonderful but you might take into consideration that the house is not suitable for anyone having disabilities.

It was fabulous. All the rooms were air conditioned. The pool was immaculate and a beautiful temperature. The bathrooms were clean and did not smell at all (like we noticed at other properties). Breakfast was fabulous. Our host, Mita was lovely, very responsive and provided us with all sorts of goodies to try - fresh coconuts, sweets and lovely fresh juice and fruits….. ! Mira’s entire family was lovely and friendly each time we passed by.

Our stay at Danu House was by far the best experience of our Bali trip. Not the most luxurious of the properties we stayed in however the kindness of the hosts, the cleanliness and comfort of the villa and the lovely breakfast were exceptional. Staying within the family compound was a wonderful experience and a window into the daily life of the owners. The villa is a 10-15 minute walk to the main shopping and restaurant area in Ubud. This property has soul and we will return at the earliest opportunity.

Nothing not to like.

Me and my family stayed at Danu house for 6 days and it was absolutely delightful! The beautiful, well-equipped house with a cute plunge pool and the gracious hosts, Mita and Kadek, who provided amazing breakfasts and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, truly made our experience memorable. Their efforts in arranging local activities, getting fresh fruits, organizing day trips, and even arranging tickets for the Kecak dance showcase their exceptional hospitality. It was a fantastic stay filled with care and thoughtfulness! Thank you Mita and Kadek!!!

There was nothing that we disliked.

Great host, very friendly. Open breakfast choices. Great location for access to central Ubud but quiet enough to relax and wind down. Easy access to the local temple with a regular dance recital that the kids absolutely loved. Host's dad can be hired as a driver and he is wonderful with the kids and has excellent knowledge of surrounding areas

Everything. The family who ruins the villa has the biggest heart. Loved staying there. We even experienced a special Hindu ceremony with them. Sometime you need to book a luxury place and sometimes you just need to book something with the heart. Danu ubud house is the second option. Thank you

Danu House was the perfect place for a family vacation. The acommodation is in a traditional Balinese compound in which two families reside permanently. Our unit was separated by a gate that opened up to a courtyard with an outdoor soaking pool (not big enough to swim but great for cooling down) and lounge chairs. The two story building included 2 separate bedrooms with king beds on the upper level, each with its own bathroom. The lower level had a dining room (with an American size fridge-freezer combo) on one side and a living room that included a washing machine (no dryer, but it is so hot clothes dry outside on the racks in just a couple hours) and a TV (with Netflix and other apps) on the other side. Both downstairs rooms have bathrooms too, so there are 4 toilets in total. On the lower level is an outdoor kitchen with a grill and microwave. Mita was the most amazing host. She was very communicative via whatsapp and was always available if we needed anything. She made us breakfast every morning and she is a great cook, fully capable of cooking western or Balinese dishes. She helped us book massages in our living room and watched our kids (she has some of her own) so we could relax. The location is great, as it is on a relatively quiet side street but it is just a 10-15 minute walk from the center of Ubud.

Nothing. For our family, I cannot imagine a better place to stay.

Breakfast was great and Mita was very accommodating, she was even happy to accommodate for our very fussy nine year old daughter. The accomodation and pool were spotless. The location is excellent and this is the best accommodation experience we’ve had to date. I found the beds were very comfortable, the rooms spacious, as were the ensuite’s. there is even a clothes washer if you want it. As a guest you are able to get a glimpse into the life of a Bali family. We could walk to most things or catch a taxi if it is too hot. I can’t recommend Danu House highly enough for anyone from couples/ small groups or families, there are two double bed rooms upstairs and a lounge in one room downstairs with the other room having the dining room. We had a marvellous time staying at Danu house as a family.
