Character Cottage In West Burton, Wensleydale

Cosy and nicely furnished cottage in a great rural location, West Burton was very quaint with a very nice pub and handy little shop nearby, locals all very welcoming. No issues with cleanliness when we arrived and the property was in very good condition. Modern-feeling kitchen and bathroom. Underfloor heating definitely appreciated.

No major issues, although we noticed that the front panel of the heating unit (in the area between the back outside door and bathroom door) was loose when we arrived at the property.

It was a very cosy & had a lovely feel to it with peaceful & scenic surroundings. Loved the shower & sofas. The property was well presented & clean.

A couple of personal observations from us only: Hubby did bang his head a coupe of times walking through the bedroom door, maybe a sign above the door? I caught my head on the corner of the cupboard above the fridge when I got up from getting something out, maybe a corner protector? The bed was large & we slept well, but we felt the mattress could be turned or replaced as we were rolling to the edge of the bed each night as it felt the mattress was higher in the middle & the sides were compressed from use?

It was a lovely cottage, characterful as described, in a good location in a great village that we know very well, It was very calm and peaceful and Gareth and Lucy were very quick to respond to any of our questions. There are great walks from the doorstep and excellent local amenities nearby in Leyburn and Hawes. We had a wonderful time and even the weather behaved for us all week!

The cottage is exactly as advertised, its comfortable and has everything you would need for your stay. The location is scenic, peaceful, locals are friendly. This was our first visir to Yorkshire and we will definitely be back. Thank you to the owners for keeping us informed throughout. Would highly recommend. The Hannah's ☺️

Very cosy relaxing. I love the Dales grew up there as a child.. lovely bed

Little bit noisy with heating at night.. but did not really bother us.
