Le Maree Deluxe Apartment by Dimore Trinacria

Electricity cuts 20 times per day. We were not able to use washing machine and any other appliances like a kettle or a cooktop at the same time. It was very frustrating. It was winter and none of the heaters were working! We got so cold that my son got sick. The host told us that technicians checked everything and it was working but all heaters were blowing cold air instead of warm. Shower cabin was disgusting. Black from dirt. There was a bar right under the apartment and we didn’t sleep till 2 am because of the loud music. We will never come back to this apartment and will not recommend to anyone. It was enough hot water only for one person per day. Our holidays were ruined.

The location of the apartment is great with a beautiful view, a Saturday market outside the front door and very walkable. The apartment was well appointed and the welcome from the host warm.

Bring mosquito repellent

This was an exceptional apartment in terms of its location, with a superb roof terrace overlooking the sea. It was a well appointed apartment. The kitchen area was good and sufficient for our purposes. We ate in every other day, buying our food from the local market, which is very close to the apartment, with superb fish, fruit and vegetables. A real foodies paradise. The local restaurants too were excellent and very good value, and Susanna, the host made some very good recommendations of where to eat.

Great Location and view

It was really one and one half baths, it only had one shower. Also, second bedroom was not walled off with its own door, it has a curtain for a door, not private for a second couple.

I liked location It was well furnished It was amply stocked with linens (expect the possibility of cosy blankets for cooler night) Kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating needs

There were many things that bothered me such as: some lights and plug’s didn’t work Coffee machine didn’t work Dryer only worked well twice, after that had to dry things on portable hang dryer. (Found in the apartment) Small Ants in the kitchen Music coming from somewhere in the building at night rather loud. One night intolerable ! And reported it! Contact person offered no information for garbage disposal or any anything else. Just have a good time! But the thing that really bothered me was the fact the shower walls, hand held shower head and floor were covered in mold! DISGUSTING.

Fabulous location, lovely roof terrace, great views of the sea

A few nights we could hear music late at night, mostly the low thump of the bass.

Location was fantastic! Close to some high rated restaurants. The view of the ocean from the balcony and rooftop were incredible. Rooms were spacious.

Perhaps extra air conditioning & curtain for the single extra bed.

The apartment is recently renovated and stylishly decorated. All the whitegoods and the air-conditioning are new and function very well, making the stay smooth and comfortable. Beautiful roof terrace with exceptional view, even though it was a little too hot to stay there during daytime. Perfect location, a few steps from the food market where you can find fantastic fish, meat and vegetables at low prices. Excellent hosts! They were very easy to get in touch with, extremely helpful and always very punctual. We asked for some additional kitchen utensils and Elisabetta provided us with them very quickly.

Parking is available just below the apartment at a cost of 1,50€/h or 15€/day. However, free parking can be found outside Ortigia (10 min walk from the apartment). The stairs inside the apartment are quite steep, so the apartment is not really suitable for persons with limited mobility.
