Majacho`s House

We stayed almost a week and it felt like a homestay because the host Rafael and his family are taking very good care of you. We got a pick up from the airport and on a rainy day we could join them for a trip to the local market in the city. After other guests left they asked us to move in their room because the room was nicer and had more space, moreover they cleaned inbetween our stay. The meals are prepared by the grannys of the family and are very good, same for the Maracuja Piscos Rafael prepared for us in the evening. For out last dinner Rafaels Mom even prepared a chicken from her garden for us - delicious! Besides relaxing we did some tours, which we recommend: - Clay licking perrots and other exotic birds at surise - Sunset Boat Tour - Jungle Hike - Lago Sandoval The first 3 tours were operated by Rafael himself, he has a very good knowledge about the environment and wildlife there, the other tour was organized by him, but with a bigger group and another guide. Moreover, after dinner you can join for a nightwalk to see sloth and other animals on or near the property. After all a great experience.

Be prepared for cold showers.

Rafa und seine Familie waren super nett und zuvorkommend. Wir waren sehr begeistert von den kleinen Spaziergängen mit Rafa, bei denen wir Faultiere und andere Tiere entdecken konnten. Gegessen haben wir ebenfalls sehr gut. Sie kochten immer frisch und die meisten Zutaten kommen direkt aus ihrem eigenen oder Grossmuttersgarten. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

The owner (Rafael) conveniently made all the arrangements for picking us up from the airport and taking us back to the airport at no additional charge. Every meal was unique and exceptional. Always with the touch of local cousin including rare tropical fruits. Perfect location if you are open to spend some time directly on the Tambapata river in the jungle in a quiet isolation. Make sure to go with Rafael on sunset river tour, he’s incredibly knowledgeable about flora and fauna of the region.He will bring English speaking guide on the trip. He can help make arrangements for the other tours.

Strategic location for tourist activities and amazing connection to nature for relaxation. It is surrounded by a lot of flora and fauna. The bungalows are cozy, clean and with great view to the river. Food excellent and prepared with local products. Rafael is an expert host, we learned so much about wild animals and medicinal plants. He is very friendly as well as all the staff.
