Trebartha East The Round House

Trebartha East the Roundhouse was one of the best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. The hotel is in the most stunning location and the tranquility of 4 bedrooms made it feel very exclusive. All the staff were brilliant and so kind, we felt very looked after. One thing I must highlight is the food it was outstanding, we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and all were delicious. I’d highly recommend anyone visiting Sri Lanka to stay here, you won’t be disappointed!

Round house is the most amazing place! Starting from architecture which is very unique and with only four rooms offers high privacy. Rooms are specious and every detail is taken care of. The staff and food are amazing! One of the best food in Sri Lanka. It’s a great value for money and I highly recommend going there!

The Round House at Trebartha East Plantation is simply one of the most memorable hotel stays of my life. The building is an architectural masterpiece, seamlessly blending traditional Sri Lankan architecture and luxurious hospitality. From the moment you arrive, there an undeniable sense of tranquility, like stepping into another (more peaceful) world. The views from the 4 rooms are over a cinnamon plantation - you cannot see or hear another soul, just the sounds of peacocks every morning. The rooms were comfortable and very spacious with modern bathroom facilities and excellent WiFi. The infinity pool is beautiful and the staff are happy to serve drinks or lunch poolside. They also have an on-site massage room and the masseuse they use is one of the best I’ve had anywhere - he had an absolute Midas Touch at an incredibly good value (45 minutes was about $30.) Breakfast was a highlight of our stay - a delicious spread of Sri Lankan sweet and savory foods, fresh fruits, coffee and tea, and made to order egg dishes. The staff were exceptional. They consistently went out of their way to help us with arranging tuk tuk rides, recommending local attractions, or booking surf lessons. They were so warm and hospitable. They did a nightly turndown service and cleaned the rooms every day. For only 4 rooms at this hotel, the staff:guest ratio is extremely high. We celebrated Christmas at this hotel and they arranged a gorgeous Christmas dinner, prepared by a local celebrity chef who came in to cook for us. They even lit up the tree in the center of the garden with Christmas lights for us. It made our stay here that much more special. We couldn’t recommend this place enough and were so sad to leave. Thank you to the team for an excellent stay.
