Trebartha East The Round House

This property including the staff is a true Sri Lankan gem. From the moment you step into this hotel, you immediately know that it's unlike any place you've ever been before. The roundhouse concept is genius as it provides 360 degrees of uninterrupted views of the area. I'd hate to describe the place much more because you must see it for yourself. It's a place worth the attention of Architectural Digest! The infinity pool is the highlight. With only a limited number of rooms available, you'll never find yourself crowded in the pool hence it feels almost like a private pool, which it did during our stay as we used it thrice and every single time we were the only ones in the pool. I have rated this the most serene common pool I've been lucky to take a dip in. The food is also excellent here, which you have to pick from the a la carte menu. The breakfast with the stunning morning view was the icing on the cake. Kasun is an excellent manager and a wonderful host. He along with his team comprising of the Jack of all trades, Tharaka made our stay super convenient and memorable.

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. Kasun and his great team really made it special. From beginning to the end everything was taken well care of and in perfect order. The food is delicious! We had dinner both nights and it was perfect. The breakfast is stunning and served in the most scenic location. The room is airy, pretty designed and the bed is comfy. It feels like a vip experience with only 4 rooms and the pool is breathtaking too. We hope to come back another time! 😍

Stunning architecture, the view from our room was just amazing and the pool is a very relaxing place to spend time. We were incredibly well-cared for by all the staff and would love to return.

Beautiful design, excellent food and thoughtful service! Secluded and quiet stay that feels truly luxurious and Kasun + team will make sure your every need is taken care of. Take a walk around the plantation with the hotel dog Billy and learn about cinnamon farming, or head out to the nearby tea plantations for tours and tasting.

Absolutely fantastic. So unique and peaceful. The staff could not have been better.

This hotel is divine. Spent over a month in Sri Lanka at many properties and this is the best. Perfectly tranquil in middle of cinnamon plantation, the architecture is fabulous. Food is delicious, reminds me of high end Africa lodges. Really stunning all around.

This is nitpicking as it was close to perfect but: - they need an espresso machine to make cappuccinos etc. - better communication for pool service (one of those buttons to call staff would be perfect) - towels on ground weren’t cleared at turndown - I’d encourage the owners to consider an all inclusive option, I’d pay a lot more to have all drinks and food included
