Welcoming, charming, and affordable! + We felt very welcome, Nisha is a great host, attentive, and very welcoming. There is everything you need, and the location is perfect, 10 minutes on foot to the beach, market close-by. Breakfast was delicious and balanced, surroundings green and full of animals and birds. My score does not reflect the staff but instead the management. The staff at the accommodation were nice and the breakfast was good.

I will assume the owner of the accommodation was expecting this review from me. I had booked the ground floor apartment. I received a message on Whatsapp saying that there was an issue on booking and asked if I could take the room with balcony with garden view. He did not send any pictures of the room. When asked I assumed that I would receive the equivalent in value by getting the room as initially the owner did not offer me any discount for downgrading my stay. When I arrived I saw that the room was super small, The kitchen was shared by all the other guests so I raised a complaint to the owner. Initially the owner seemed angry about my complaint and had an angry tone in the phone as I had said yes to taking the room because I could not stay in the apartment, from what I understood on the phone the apartment was being repaired. However I told the owner that downgrading without any compensation is crazy and after a bit we agreed on a discount. I then entered the room and saw the balcony which was told to me having a "garden view" however instead I was looking directly at the roof of a building and not a garden. The balcony was flooded with water because of a damaged pipe so I was not able to go out on the balcony for the first 24h. I contacted booking and informed the owner that I would file a complaint with them. He then called me and in the end offered me to pay half the price, as I was going alone to do safari in Yala I decided to take the offer as doing a safari alone is expensive so I could use the additional money there. On the second to last day someone arrived at the accommodation for the ground floor apartment and was able to get the apartment. It therefore seems like the owner had double booked which is why I ended up in this situation. The owner should have offered me some sort of compensation as a minimum immediately and not upon request from me or through me contacting booking.

This property felt like home. The room isn’t huge but having the balcony and the use of the kitchen and dining area was great. The bathroom was the best we’ve had with nice hot water showers. They also have a free washing machine! Nisha, our caretaker provides a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast that changes daily. We extended for another 3 days we enjoyed it so much.

The only thing I could make better was having a squeegee in the bathroom to get rid of the water on the floor after showering and having a few hooks to hang your clothes.

The Villa is located about a 10 min walk from the beach. Well away from the main road and therefore very quiet all day and night. Lovely room and balcony with separate kitchen facilities on the 1st floor. A washing machine is located on the ground floor also. Nisha (the host) serves a really great breakfast, such nice food. I would highly recommend this Villa.

We had great time at the villa, Nisha - the caretaker is extremely friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, there is even hot water! You can also buy handcrafted gem jewelry there. Highly recommend!

The room was spacious and had everything needed for a long term stay with the well equipped shared kitchens and very clean and modern bathrooms, and a washing machine. There is a food shop a 2 minute walk away. Nisha who cleaned and made breakfast was a very lovely lady and always helpful and happy to help whenever needed! It made Serendip feel like home. It’s on the quieter end of Talalla beach but feels private and is still close to the beach and bus stop! The shared eating, chilling and outdoor areas are a big bonus

Comfortable clean room. Fantastic breakfast served with a smile and a nice pot of tea. Washing machine and dry racks. Staff (Nisha) fantastic. Really nice bathroom with nice water pressure and hot water access. Shared kitchen. Kittens and monkeys! Great value for the price. Staff is quick to help with anything you need.

Not much! It was a really nice stay. It's a bit far from things, but you can get a tuk tuk or a scooter to get around. The stove was the only thing I didn't like - it doesn't have a starter button so you have to light gas with a flame! I'm not a fan of that 😂
