Beautiful spacious old schoolhouse with stunning sea views and beach nearby

Absolutely perfect second week here. Such a comfortable house with wonderful views. Definitely recommend staying here.

The Schoolhouse is in a fantastic position, lovely views over to Arran and close enough to shops etc when needed. The house is a lovely homely cosy place. Very comfortable beds, we've slept so well. Really good showers with good pressure and loads of hot water. Loads of space to spread out - or gather together. Well equipped kitchen with huge range cooker. Love the sunny window seat! There is WiFi, although a little slow, but then it is lovely to have a break from technology! Lovely beach to walk to (with great cafe). Great walks from the door or further afield. Abigail, our host, is really helpful and communicative. A great base for exploring this beautiful island, or to relax in and watch the rabbits and birds in the garden. Really glad we've booked a second week here 😄

We haven't asked as it hasn't been a problem but we haven't found a clothes horse to dry wet things on. Everything else has been perfect.

Location

Wasn’t clean as it could be. Lots of dead and living wood lice Didn’t feel looked after. Couldn’t use sun room as window seals had gone and inside was all misted up so couldn’t see out Many of the blinds didn’t work. Carpet had moth eggs hatching and moths on walls No logs provided for wood burner had to drive to other end of island to pick up. House felt cold with damp showing on curtains and shades Black stuff dropping out of light in bathroom onto toilet

The property is superb, and the views are absolutely beautiful! Plus with Ettrick Bay Beach a short stroll away, the location and the house are the perfect place to unwind.

Wundervolles Haus in ruhiger Lage mit einem traumhaften Ausblick zum Meer und Arran. Gut ausgestattet, komfortabel, etwas kühl zu Beginn, aber gut heizbar. Kamin sorgt für behagliche Wärme beim Feierabend-Whisky. Noch nie hatte ich vor Reiseantritt eine so umfangreiche "Einweisung" vom Vermieter, wahnsinnig gut. Von der Anfahrtsbeschreibung über Hausausstattung, Freizeittipps, Tourenvorschläge, wo essen, wo einkaufen.... Zu viel, um alles aufzuzählen. Danke, Abigail !!!

Brilliant location with stunning views of Arran. Spacious, well equipped, quiet, wonderful birdsong, even otters on the beach just a few minutes walk away. Did I mention the views?

Great location. Spacious. Couple of issues were dealt with quickly by handyman

Moth infestation in conservatory rug so couldn't use it . Although pet friendly garden not fully secure so always had to put dog on lead to fo out.

The space, the layout and the views were stunning. The property had everything you need from dishwasher to washer dryer, 3 bathrooms, the beds were comfy..towels and bedding provided. Can't fault the place at all.
