We spent three unforgettable days in this house, which is a true gem... What a joy to wake up to the sound of birdsong, admiring the Douro Valley from the bed. To have breakfast in the sun, in front of this beautiful stone house. To explore the region and come back tired, then relax in the stunning bathtub while once again taking in the view. Whatever the question or request, Mario responds promptly. You can book with complete confidence — you'll be delighted!

Need to emphasize more that it is on two floors. Dicey to get into the parking area.

Love the view from the apartment and the attentiveness of the hosts who went out of their way to help us book a restaurant and provided great recommendations on activities in Douro Valley. Apartment was also clean, new and well equipped - though if you plan to cook, essential seasonings were not available.

While there is spacious private parking space, it's really narrow and challenging to turn into the private carpark. Just park outside the town square which is less than a minute walk away.

Fantastic location, well modernised, good spaces, comfortable, swimming pool, laundry, car parking, able to charge electric car through standard outside socket.

Difficulty in identifying property from outside - needed to open large gate. Immediate road access was very narrow.

Very well appointed. Very clean and welcoming. BBQ was a real bonus. Bed linen and pillows were super. Pool was a lovely addition.

The house is located in the hilltop village of Adorigo. Although there is nothing much in the village - you will need to drive to the local supermarket for provisions - you don't need anything in the village, although you can obtain provisions from local suppliers who arrive in the village, announcing their arrival by hooting their horns. It is easy to find. Head for the small square in front of the chapel where you can park your car. Walk a few metres back the way you came turn left down a steep hill and a few metres on the right is a brown metal gate. This is a double gate. To park open both gates and then parking the car is easy with good brake control. A bit of clutch control on the way out and it's absolutely fine. Access to the house is via the parking area (which is very large). There is a secluded private pool accessed via steps down below and a few steps takes you to the large patio in front of the house which is large, with a great view and perfect for evening meals. The house itself is two storey and is fantastic. We cooked some great meals here during our 5 night stay. We loved it! The owner Mario, speaks great English and very communicative and helpful via messaging or talking to on the phone. A great host. Also, you have access to the laundry room next door (access via a key in the apartment). Easy access to local sights and Pinhao from where you take trips on the river.
