The Old Surgery, Central cosy cottage in the heart of Whitby

Very well equipped property in a great location. Very comfortably furnished with everything thought of. Close proximity to both seafront and local amenities. For anyone looking it is only a 15 minute walk to The Cinder Track parkrun. Clear instructions and timely information provided by host

We were met by the host Lee, who gave us a really nice welcome and took the time to explain about parking, electronic door entry systems and the parking within the area, which was greatly appreciated.

There is nothing not to like about The Old Surgery, a cosy cottage in the heart of Whitby. It is exactly what it says on the tin, and a superb place to stay close enough to the Whitley Bay front but away from the noise on the evening.

Apartment was well thought out with everything you needed.nice comfy bed spacious bedroom.

Had to keep blinds down as people were coming in the back yard to the bins.could do with net curtains

The location was excellent. The cottage was lovely and welcoming. Kitchen was well equipped, Comfortable bed. Lovely fluffy towels. Host provided loads of valuable information. Great area with plenty of places round about to eat and drink. I could have lived there!

Just one thing, nothing the host could do about it, but there was a lot of noise from the apartment above as obviously no carpet, just laminate flooring. I had noise cancelling headphones with me so didn't bother me too much. Just something to be aware of. Certainly wouldn't prevent me from staying there again.

Lovely little ground floor apartment, ideal for a couple. Clean, modern and comfortable with an excellent layout. Brilliant central location which was also incredibly quiet (only 2 minutes walk down to Whitby Swing Bridge on the River Esk). Could pull up right outside the property, enter and offload our stuff, collect the parking permit, and then go and park in zone W. It took us 5 minutes to drive around to work the parking out and get our bearings, but it wasn’t a problem and we parked 2 minutes walk away. Would definitely stay again.

Nothing not to like, but it would be really useful if salt and pepper, kitchen roll, a few dishwasher tablets and some kitchen cleaning products were provided.

We liked the accommodation, it was clean and warm. Very conveniently located walking distance to main sightseeing attractions.

Car parking instructions and prices information varied.

Banging back gate that was not lockable and kept blowing open and banging closed. Only a minor issue.
