Epsom Red House

Location.

Outside of property was really run down and unkept. Inside was tired and dated. There was only one entry to the property as the back door was locked with no key (fire exit). The bedside lamp shade was broken(glass). The thermal backing on the curtains was perished. The window lock had fallen off. Two heaters were broken. There was only a fixed sheet and no top sheet on the beds. The bed linen was all crumpled and not ironed. The bathroom had mould on the grout above the basin and around the drain in the basin. The shower was dirty around the bottom edges and mould under the seals. The drain cover in the shower was broken and the drain was slow to drain. There was mould on two of the bathroom walls and stains in the bath. The vanity top was lifting on one side and dropping on the other. The grout on the floor tiles was dirty. The toilet door was dirty and worn. In the kitchen there was no baking dish to use in the oven and limited dishes if there had been 8 people as the house was capable of accommodating. When you opened the oven the inside door liner was not attached to the door. The range hood didn’t work. The coffee machine was missing the tube to draw up the milk. There was only one tea towel, no hand towel or bath mat. We were unable to use the tv as you needed an Android or windows 10 to operate it. There was stains on the couches and marks on the coffee table. There was some red spill on the floor which hadn’t been cleaned up. The vents in the bathroom and kitchen were dirty and dusty. The electrical plug for the jug was dirty and half attached to the wall.

The house was roomy and just right. Very warm and had all the amenities. Showers were nice and hot. Would definitely stay there again. Close to all amenities. Warm homely feeling in the house.

The outside needed a bit more care. Once you entered the inside, didn’t really matter.

Loved that the house had heating and was very spacious and was very central to locations.

The dusty smell in rooms. The couches smelt like cat pee and we had a bad interaction with the back house, They parked in the drive way blocking entrance and when asked to moved they were very arrogant which iknow is out of the hosts control. Also the shower water wouldn’t drain properly And lack of simple amenities ie, toilet paper. Thankfully this was rectified as the cleaners had shown up to clean it due to an error made by the boss.

Great location. Large house with spacious bedrooms. Comfortable, clean and tidy. Plenty of room for our extended family of 6 adults and 2 children attending a family event in Auckland. Hassle free check in and check out. Very reasonable price. Warm. Huge TV. Internet a bonus. Would definitely stay again.
