Cozy Lewes Town House

Thankfully the owner was very apologetic and quickly gave us a full refund after I sent photographs of the damp as we did not feel able to stay in the property for 1 night let alone the 3 we had booked it for. The owner of the property said they were unaware of the damp problem. I have deliberately not chosen to add the photos on here due to us getting our money back.

There was damp in the front room up rising up the walls and around socket points. The house smelt damp. The fridge looked very old and yellowing and was not switched on when we arrived. We were not sure that the socket by the fridge worked due to damp. I do believe that because the side of the house was exposed this was the source of the damp. Due to the inconvenience of having to find new accommodation at such short notice our trip turned out more expensive. The house was sub standard and outside the front it was untidy and over grown. The garden was also more of a yard and unkempt. It was on the corner of a vary busy road and opposite Lewes prison. The downstairs living room felt more like going downstairs into a basement.

The house has a minimal but tasteful atmosphere and I felt very warm and cosy the whole time

Overall nice property, close to the centre. Situated on a busy road but wasn’t as noisy as I expected

The stairs to the lounge room are a bit steep for children or dogs, the key lock is a bit tricky to navigate especially in the rain

This house was great for what we needed. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Facilities all good.

Unfortunately this house was very damp, the smell hits you as soon as you open the door, especially bad in the basement lounge area.
