Biet Dien Hotel

It's a basic but comfortable hotel in a good location (near center) and also within walking distance of some restaurants. Some areas of the hotel seem newer, and other parts older. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an ok buffet. Big room and decent balcony.

Some facilities (bathroom faucet, etc.) were a bit old and loose.

It's a good hotel but we had better rooms for less money. The room looked quite dated Staff are not as helpful as experienced elsewhere in Vietnam, but the town is a lot less touristy, which might explain the difference.

Breakfast buffet keeps you for the day. Gorgeous room. Very friendly.

Location is very convenient. Facilities are a little old but work well, and the room is wide enough. Reception staff are freindly and supportive.

Reception staff are not so good at English. Other staff look a little unsophisticated.

The toilets are smelly

The location is excellent. Plenty of stores and food opportunities close by. The square across the street always has something going on in the evening. The included breakfasts were nice, but the food selection was mediocre. The bathroom vent fan in my room worked very well.

I was told that this hotel is owned by the largest business in the region and it seems to be that it is supposed to be one of the better local options. However, with that in mind there is no hot water. I don't mind for washing hands, but a very cold shower is not my thing. If you are a top notch hotel, then install hot water heaters for the showers like every other hotel in south east Asia. Also the room floors are dirty. You are supposed to take your shoes off to keep from tracking crud throughout the room, but that does not mean the floors never need to be cleaned. I spilled some water in a spot that is not a heavy footpath area and cleaned it up with a white hand towel. Afterwards the hand towel was filthy. It appears that they sweep the floors, but a weekly wet mopping seems to be in order. One other item specific to my room is that the door latch plate to the balcony door was distorted enough that the latch did not latch the door closed. Although it appeared to be closed, all you had to do was push on the door and it would easily open. The location of the bathroom floor drain, the toilet and the shower was no laid out very well. The shower was in one corner and the toilet was in a corner next to it. Yet the floor drain was located on the opposite side of the toilet from the shower. So for the water from the shower to drain it had to go from one side of the toilet to the other. Which meant that there was standing water in front of the toilet after using the shower. If you want dry feet when using the toilet some time after the shower was used, then you either have to wait for all of the water to dry or use all of your towels to soak up the water. 😑
