Coastal Luxury Home in Margate

Location was reasonable. Decor despite being dirty/scratched in places was ok.

So much could have been better. The door handle to the twin bedroom kept falling off, the bathroom lock didn’t work. The shower overflows in the double room. And if you have small children be careful- the wardrobe looks like it’s about to fall forward as it’s angled with the base touching the wall and the top leaning away from the wall and isn’t secure. There is nowhere to hang the shower head in the twin en-suite. There were insufficient towels for 4 people. Two of us having to dry our hair and body with a tiny hand towel. Tried to contact the host by phone and message to request towels- no response at all. The tea towel and one of the hand towels were really smelly. There were two bath mats for 3 bathrooms. In the twin room, a rickety clothes rail with 3 coat hangers. Door lock on the door to the balcony not working properly. Beds very rickety and uncomfortable. Could have been cleaner. I stay away a lot and and not usually fussy about snags, but the lack of responsiveness from the hosts, even in business hours compounds the issues. The door to the apartment is a Yale lock. We accidentally locked ourselves out. Despite there being spare keys for all of the flats there was no spare key for flat 4. After trying to contact the host for 7 hours, he eventually answered and said he would try and locate a spare key. 4 hours later he told me there wasn’t one so I was told I had to pay £150 for a locksmith. Had no choice as needed to get into the apartment ( 3 women and a minor left out on the street for 12 hours overnight). When I questioned our need to pay when I thought it was reasonable to expect there to be a spare key, I was told, uncaringly- it’s your fault. Avoid at all costs

The view was amazing and the flat spacious.

I didnt like that the cleaner hadnt been and didnt come the first day. Was told that they could come the next day but by that point there was no point. All the bedding was dirty, there were dirty used towels everywhere. Food in the pots and pans and rubbish in the kitchen. The internet didnt work and only had a few channels on the digital tv. Overall, it was a very disappointing two days. I wouldnt stay there again.

It was clean and bright, lots of room, every room had an ensuite and there was a main bathroom plus a balcony.

The wooden floors made it so you could hear every footstep on the flat above. And who ever stayed the same time as me was up running around until 2.30am. And the shower ran cold a few time's..
