The Roman Hotel

Bar wasn’t open only seen somebody when 1st checked in nobody available to complain about the fact the windows didn’t close so was freezing all night and couldn’t sleep due to noise was not as close to the tower as advertised even from 7am to 10.30 there was nobody there

The hotel is a 5 min walk from the pleasure beach and is right next to a tram stop.

upon arrival we were hit with an extremely unpleasant smell which filled the entire place. The room was tiny, dusty and dirty, our view was windows from other rooms which looked straight into ours so we had to keep the blinds shut. The towels stunk of damp and the general unpleasant and unclean smell of the whole hotel, as did the bedding. We pulled up the bottom sheet to reveal the blood and god knows what stained mattress. The facilities were non existent. The bar looked as though it hadn’t been used for years and the front part of the restaurant had been turned into a living room for an old man? He was there for the entirety of the trip but did not speak or acknowledge us, just sat watching tv- odd. There was no breakfast, even if there was we would not have eaten it, and no one there when we checked out so we just placed the keys down and ran. Then received a call 2 days later from the owner asking me to move my car from the car park- i don’t drive nor do i own a car. If the room had been £20 i maybe wouldn’t have minded but £40 is way more than i would ever pay to stay here, please don’t be like me and read the reviews first before u book!!!

Room was small, the bedding was dirty, the blind was full of dust and dirt, the hot tap in the bathroom is stiff, the sink was cracked, shower was dirty, no soap, not enough tea,coffee,milk, sugar. It was cheap for the price ideal if you just want a bed for the night to get head down and straight out, all decor was old needs updating, and a paint, the walls in the corridors was full of mirrors. Not enough parking. Wouldn’t stay there again or recommend this place to anyone.

The property was in a good location near the pleasure beach and free parking on site

The property was acceptable the bed sheets and duvet could do with a change as they seem to be very old and well used and don’t smell very good and there was only one towel to share between 4 of us

Room not the best. Toilet, sink and beds fairly clean but not the rest of the room. Window wouldn't shut. Radiator wouldn't turn on. No remote for Tele. Wardrobe door wouldn't shut
