Gill Lake Batur

This property had a very high rating so we expected it to be great. However, when we got there, nobody was around and we had to call the owner to come and greet us. The room itself was okay, but was not very clean. There were many cobwebs, lots of spiders and lizards, and we didn’t feel comfortable. The bathroom also smelled awful. We booked this property for two nights but left after one, and the owner tried to bribe us to give him a good review. He gave me 100k rupiah as a ‘refund’ for the night we didn’t stay there, while showing me a review for his property in which every element was rated 10/10, saying ‘help me out and give me a review like this’ while handing me the money. My advice is not to stay here - but if you don’t like spiders, do not come to Kintamani or stay overnight near mount Batur at all. They are huge and they are everywhere.

Very friendly host, he helped us to do the shopping for bbq night and even make the fire for the bbq. We booked two rooms for two nights. Everything was as described.

Property was very comfortable and clean. It had a cosy bed and great verandah with views over lawn to the lake. Manager was very helpful at organising Mt Batur hiking, a boat trip and discounted access to the hot springs. Breakfast and meals were good too.

Nice lake view, very beautiful room much better than on photos. The host was so nice! He helped us to start a fire to make sausages and even brought us some beer. The breakfast was good as well. We were offered some excursions and a cheaper price for hot springs which were very close to the place btw. I definitely recommend you to stay there

We could hear the roosters. The next morning we saw most of them were gone so probably it's not always like this. Be ready and have ear plugs if you are a light sleeper just in case

It is SO MUCH NICER than the pictures - literal paradise! The most amazing view from our HUGE double rooms (with massive beds) and the most beautiful garden! The people who work here are so generous and friendly - they want to make your stay amazing! PLEASE STAY HERE YOU WON’T regret it!!! Next to all the hot springs and the lake!!!!! NOT AS MANY FLIES AS EVERYWHERE ELSE!!!! Like 1 vs 100!!!

I LIKED ALL OF IT

Fully recommend staying here. It's only a small property so not a lot of people around which to me is a plus. Rooms are super clean, also very warm inside the room. There is a huge change in temperature from being outside to in the room. The owner is lovely, he set up the bbq and cooked chicken for us. Even saved what we didnt eat to give my dogs for breakfast. The place has a little walk way down to the jetty where you can fish. It was very quiet and peaceful at night. The hot water turns on within 10 seconds of turning it on which is amazing. BEST THING OF ALL WOULD BE THEY ARE PET FRIENDLY!!!!

The location. You can start your trek up mount Batur from your room. And it’s a short walk (5mins) to the hot springs

Not the owners fault but you are on a farm and a lake, and crops nearby attract lots of flies
