Black Sand Camp

Worst experience ever as when we reached the location there was a goat shelter & nobody not a single human being was there. Me & my husband were alone there walking in the dessert, shouting for help. 1 car came & helped us to get out of that dessert or else we would have been in trouble & alone at night in that dessert. Very bad experience we had this & when we called the owner of black sand camp. He said “go back to hotel” without taking any accountability of get us to the camp. He was not supportive & left us in trouble. If money debits from my account i want full compensation or else i will have to take this ahead with consumer court & Oman police.

The host was amazing as was the dinner. People going out of their way to make you feel comfortable. And if you go make sure you slide off the dunes

It is not negative, but the breakfast was for us aa bit too one sided. But probably that is subjective.

Absolutely perfect and unique experience, we stayed in the dome which was spacious, clean and looked amazing. All communication and arranging a pick up was smooth. The stuff was helpful, friendly and amazing and they offer many activities/services you can use to enhance your stay. For brave and adventurous I recommend the dune bashing, for food lovers the dinner was out of this world. 11/10!

Host is very very kind, nice, generous and talkative. We had really great time with him talking next to campfire in the middle of silent desert.

We stayed here for my partners 60th Birthday and it was such a memorable experience. Selim the camp owner was so nice and helpful and he organised a special cake for my partners 6Oth Birthday. Lenin was the camp chef and caretaker and he was just adorable. He made the most delicious food and hot tea. We stayed in one of the camping domes and it was so lovely. We kept the curtains open all night and were just looking at the stars from lying in bed. Highly recommend this camp and especially the camping domes.

one night at this desert accommodation in Oman. Overall, the place is very beautiful. I stayed in one of the tents, which was not bad, but some windows were not properly sealed. This made it a bit chilly at night, especially because it was very windy. As a result, I had some trouble sleeping. The host was very kind, and the staff member who also prepared the meals was extremely nice and accommodating. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and came in generous portions—I can definitely recommend the food! Unfortunately, my otherwise positive experience was slightly overshadowed by the behavior of a man who was not a guest but a friend of the host. He repeatedly made jokes about taking another wife and even hinted that I could be one. As a young woman traveling alone, these comments made me feel a bit uncomfortable and less at ease, even though he insisted it was all meant as humor. I want to emphasize that Oman is generally a very safe and respectful country, especially toward women. However, in this particular instance, these remarks made me feel uneasy, which affected my ability to enjoy my stay fully. Overall, the accommodation is lovely, the food is amazing, and the host and staff were wonderful. I hope the management can ensure that all guests feel completely comfortable and safe in the future.
