Tropical Jungle Villa 5 min walk to Cloud 9

The place is not crowded, we did have the whole place to ourselves since the other villa was not booked. The pool is big, the staff are friendly and accommodating. The villa is aesthetic.

No generator or at least a solar fan during the blackout. We were so uncomfortable because of the mosquitos and it was hot. They should have atleast a backup plan to make sure their guests are taken care of during blackouts. Plus no water on blackouts and we were not informed ahead and no water to prepare us for it. We used the pool water for it. Wifi is not too strong in the 1-bedroom villa.

Good value for money

The villa is beautiful and set in a lovely quiet location yet still in the heart of Cloud 9. The pool was a nice addition.

On face value the property is lovely but once you stay a while, there are some major functionality problems and the villa is in major need of maintenance. The bathroom is outside which wouldn’t been an issue if there was a path instead of sand which made it very hard to keep the room clean. The floorboards were broken in multiple places and felt like you could easily fall through. The villa is open air and not enclosed and the mosquitoes were terrible. The breakfast nook was nice but couldn’t really use it with the amount of bugs. The hammock is set up at a bad angle making it very uncomfortable.

Upon arrival at the property, we found no one present. We arrived before the check in time however waited until the official time of check-in (2 PM to 3 PM), despite having communicated that we would arrive between 12 PM and 1 PM. We waited for several hours in the rain with all our luggage, continuously attempting to contact the host and caretaker through calls and emails, yet received no reply. The booking confirmation provided limited information, stating that the keys for the one-bedroom hut would be located at the door. However, upon our arrival, there were no keys available at either the one-bedroom hut or the two-bedroom villa. We waited all afternoon / evening at the property and were then left with no choice but to secure a booking at an alternative accommodation and have had no refund despite the owner now contacting us to say that they will cancel the booking and refund us. We turned up at the property half way through our “booked stay” which we had paid for and had no contact from the owner, only to find that they had someone else staying in there!! Shocking and awful experience.

Unable to get into the property on the first night as we weren't given the information about the key box. Unable to contact the owner despite multiple calls and messages. Had to find alternative accommodation the first night and then managed to meet the caretaker the next day to let us in. This information was only sent to after we had checked out with a pathetic excuse from the owner. Very basic facilities outdoor toilet and shower. Much better accommodation options in cloud 9.

A beautiful place to feel secluded

Keys were not available upon arrival. Host cancelled my booking the day after and left me stranded without entry the nighht of arrival in Siargao

We could not stay at this property and had to leave because of many reasons, but most of them could have been resolved if someone who worked for the property was there to check us in, or even provided an informational paper or book to explain how to safely stay if it was listed as self-check in (which it was not.) - not contact from host, messaged at 6:00AM about check in and no response until 8am the next day - Address was different than booking website, found host WhatsApp but no answer. We’re lost looking for the place. The given address was incorrect. - Arrived and no host or anyone to check in - Waiting, messaged on app and WhatsApp, no response. Could not figure out how to get in room or if that room was even ours. - Messaged about wifi - we both had to work this evening and no host response about wifi password or anything printed to be found. Booking listing leaves us to believe we would be able to work and use our phones. - Bugs inside the villa in the curtain, on the bed, and in the walls. We understand Southeast Asia will have bugs, but these were huge and already inside the items that should have been protected (listing did not mention that the ceilings and walls did not connect to allow easy access for bugs to come in. if we read the walls did not connect to ceiling we would not have booked, as it was written it was a “villa”). - No light for sink and shower area. Sunset at 5:15 right after we arrived and we could not find working lights for the outdoor restroom anywhere. Even with the phone light, could not find it. If host was there, it could have been showed. - Could not figure out how to turn the shower on. Looked everywhere and could not figure it out. Once again, host there or information would have solved. - Finally other guests arrived, we asked them about the wifi, what they gave us did not work, and they told us something that is extremely concerning: They said that last night a man broke into their villa and took their money off of the table.

The house would be lovely if it were safe! We were robbed while we were sleeping! They broke into the house and stole our drone that was in the living room! We ended up leaving the house after that! We also had problems on the first night because the air conditioning didn't work, making it impossible to sleep!

Security! After what happened, the owner said it was our responsibility not to leave everything in the room! The drone was in the living room and they broke the window to get in! I think that when you are on vacation, you don't want to sleep in fear! I believe there was a lack of reception after what happened! We lost a day waiting for the air conditioning technician and another day to decide where to stay and file a police report!

The cottage is wonderful with an island vibe. The shower and lavatory were outdoor. A very relaxing accommodation.

The refrigerator should be replaced.
