The Green Shack

The view, the energy, the surroundings : an escape from the hectic, busy modern life. The food was excellent and delivered fresh right to your door. The warm welcome from Sébastien truly makes you feel at home ; an experience out of this world. And the sunrise is simply a must.

Though I have to admit, the bed was a little too hard 😅

Wow! You want to escape the crowds, see some real forest and enjoy a bit of bat watching? This is the place. Sebastian is a great host. We parked down below and he drove us up in the 4x4. We had local food and met the locals on our walk up and down to the shack (about 20 minutes walk).

Die Lage war ein absoluter Traum! Wer Ruhe, Natur und traumhafte Sonnenaufgänge sucht ist hier genau richtig. Sebastien ist ein toller Gastgeber. Er hat uns mit seinem Auto hochgefahren. Das Frühstück und Abendessen wird von den Damen im Dorf zubereitet und von Sebastien bis vor die Haustür gebracht. Wer das Essen nicht dazu bucht verpasst etwas. Sogar auf Extrawünsche (in unserem Fall vegan) sind sie eingegangen. Tolles Projekt, lohnt sich zu unterstützen.

Logement exceptionnel, hors du temps, une cabane isolée dans la nature avec tous les équipements nécessaires. Parfait pour déconnecter. Notre hôte, était aux petits soins et porte un projet exceptionnel. Nous reviendrons sans faute redécouvrir cet endroit. Les repas ( dîner et petit déjeuner) sont copieux et délicieux, préparés dans le village en bas en circuit court. Vue et lever de soleil magnifique, activités de randonnée possible à proximité !

Sébastien was very welcoming and we had a good time with him discussing Mauritian cuisine and culture. We recommend staying at Green Shack to nature lovers and we enjoyed our stay there. The view from the mountain was stunning and food was very good. We wish Sébastien all the best for the future!

The view is amazing from the top of the mountain. The staff is so nice, the food was wonderful and we had such a quiet and peaceful time there. They have a beautiful mission driven eco lodge and cannot wait to go back.

Nothing. The roads are challenging to get there but they are working on upgrading the tracks and they offer to come pick up people that don't have the ability to do off-road driving.
