Star Gaze Lodge

Teesha and her assistant Waruna are taking really good care of their guests. They were available in case of questions, provided inspiration on trips and organized transport to town and further destinations. The location of the residence is extraordinary with great looks on Little Adam’s Peak and Ella Rock while being just a 5 mins walk away from town. There are two rooms available only which are very modern and providing everything you need. We stayed in the smaller room which comes with a garden view only. However, with good weather conditions, breakfast will be served on the roof top with a view.

Although we knew we would stay in the smaller room while we did the booking, we were surprised how small it really is. There was literally no place where we could leave our luggage. Being in a tropical climate, we would have appreciated shelves and some more hooks to at least hang some stuff to dry. Unfortunately, there were no mosquito nets available either which made it difficult to let some fresh air in and to air the bathroom after showering leading to a humid indoor climate.

The best place to stay in Ella! From location, through hosts, to food - everything was amazing. I highly recommend this place for its views, its quiet location, the comfortable and modern looking rooms, the great advices from the hosts and the tasty breakfast. Wi-Fi was great and fast, we did not encounter even one mosquito or insect in the room, which was a nice surprise, since we were in the jungle.

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the place. It was an incredible experience! We loved everything about the place. The view from the room was just incredible.. You can see beautiful clear sky during the night full of stars - so magical! Big balcony overlooking mountains. The sound of nature was so calming. The room itself was really clean, tidy, cozy and truly felt like home. Very spacious bathroom. Loved the decor. Breakfast was delicious with the view of the mountains. Perfect location - 10 min walk to the main street or 5 min by tuk tuk. Would recommend this place, it was the best stay from all of the places we’ve been in Sri Lanka.

How should I start . The lodge has its own unique attraction. Located at Ella City and accessible easily via tuk tuk to the accommodation. Greeted warmly by Teesha and she explained about the lodge and facilities offered by them. Room was comfortable and has its own patio and terrace. Facing the hill view was a bonus call once you open your door. They have 2 friendly pet doggy - Goldie and Shaggy. Breakfast was nice with homemade Sri Lankan breakfast and also the view. Would recommend to my family n friends. And I would also come back again for my next visit 😊

The room has spectacular view from the balcony to Ella Rock and it is amazing to enjoy that while eating delicious breakfast in your own privacy. Hosts are super friendly (+ super cute dogs) and gives you help in everything you need! The place is located near Ella city and tourist attractions are in walking distance. We really enjoyed pur stay here and it looks actually better in reality as in pictures.

There is no AC in the room but there was a fan and it is not that hot in Ella during night so that was okay. I think it is a bit pricy compared to Ella’s prices, but maybe explained by the great location, viwes and privacy.

The amazing views and spacious wrap around terrace are a definite highlight. The room was comfortable and cosy, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and responsive to any queries we had.

There were a few things in the room that didn’t work such as the hairdryer and several lights didn’t function. While there was a filter coffee machine in the room, no coffee grinds or filter paper was provided (and we couldn’t find any in the shops) so it was disappointing not to be able to use it. The breakfast was okay.
