The outside of property was not particularly nice with the first thing we seen was an old silver caravan located at front of property the rest of ground could have done with a garden tidy up In general the place did not look particularly welcoming

We enjoyed the breakfast immensely.

I like tea piping hot this is my preference not a criticism. We really liked the room and the period features although we would recommend replacing the mattress at some point.

We stayed at The Old Refectory for seven nights, and from the very first moment we felt at home thanks to the warm authenticity of our hosts, Nicola and Rob. Their genuine hospitality shone through in every detail, whether it was the thoughtful suggestions that led us to hidden gems in O’Neill country (Ulster) or the occasional homemade treat that appeared just in time for our day’s adventures. Breakfast was always a delight, and as vegetarians we especially savored the Ulster fry: hearty, delicious, and prepared with care. The rooms themselves are charming and full of character, beautifully reflecting the history and spirit of the place. The gentle presence of the donkey and the many cats gave the house a comforting, homely atmosphere, as if we were part of a larger family. And in the evenings, to sit in the garden with a book while the light lingered in the long summer air, those are moments we will treasure. The Old Refectory is not just a place to stay, but a place to truly experience.

Lovely historic, property with lots of character, and an ideal location for exploring Northern Ireland. Fab breakfast in a dining room out of a Jane Austen novel(!) Hosts were friendly generous and welcoming. Hope to go back:-)

Superb location, property & owners. We arrived very early, straight from our flight, purely to drop off bags. We were immediately greeted with piping hot mugs of tea & coffee - plus the cleaner had just finished in our room so we were able to drop our bags, in the room. The property is really interesting, as are the well travelled owners, which the décor of the house reflects. Breakfast was excellent and our specific requirements were met. Had a lovely tour of the grounds. It truly is a lovely place and one we will definitely stay in again. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Our host Rob and Nicola were so welcoming! They made us right at home. The property was beautiful and our room very comfortable. Loved the gardens, the happy cats and donkey. Would certainly recommend to stay here! Keep up the great work Rob!
