Hare and Hounds - Newbury

Lovely pub close to nature trails. The staff is really nice and attentive and the food was good.

The King room we booked was very small. The bathroom was lacking privacy as basically part of the room. But still really good value for money.

The staff were very friendly, especially the staff at breakfast. The room was nicely decorated. Coffee machine was a nice touch. Beautiful setting. Lots of parking.

The bathroom wasn't clean (lots of hair and dust). The tiles in the shower were cracked and it was very slippery. Breakfast wasn't great, lots of items from the self service had run out (even though there was an hour an half left of service). The added extras e.g. bathrobe and slippers were not available in the room, even though they were stated with the booking confirmation. Only one window opened (so the room was very warm), even with the fans.

Staff were all excellent and attentive. Service was brilliant from more than one person.

The heat in the rooms, unfortunately not anything anyone could do. Perhaps air conditioning units would help.

We chose it because it was not far from Highclere castle. So, good location. Facilities good, free onsite parking.

Rooms were very small. Nicely furnished, very clean and comfy, but very squeezy for two people, especially if you have luggage.

Le rapport qualité/prix du restaurant est trop élevé. Il manque un radiateur dans la salle de bain pour sécher les serviettes de bain.

Boutique style, really comfy bed and amenities. Restaurant and bar area quaint and super friendly serving delicious food. Close to Highclere. Will consider as a stop over point when travelling north via Newbury. Great find and highly recommend.

Compact, quirky room with comfy bed, tea tray, coffee machine and a sloe gin sample. Milk was given to us when we arrived and delivered in the morning as no fridge so therefore no humming. Staff were most friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant which along with the wine list was very good. Breakfast was excellent. We live in the middle of nowhere so nights are very quiet so we did notice the road noise but this would not put us off staying again.

The only thing missing was a couple extra tea bags as we don’t drink coffee but am sure that had I remembered to ask they would have been provided.
