The secret garden house

The host provided excellent instructions and was kind enough to go out of her way to buy us a hairdryer.

The location was a pleasant walk away from the city centre and very close to a wonderful common. We enjoyed a fabulous walk, with our dog,through nature reserves and a country park, all close by.

It had 3 bedrooms so we could have our own rooms Owner very helpful with adding extra night

As the weather was wet the leaves in the garden where slippery Steep stairs

The garden was nice. The location was good.

The dining room smelt of soot, as if the chimney needed sweeping. One of the bedrooms smelt musty and gave the man who slept in it a migraine- he doesn’t usually have them. The downstairs shower did not get warm enough.

Great location and good facilities. Parking not a problem. House was clean.

Location excellent. Everything you could need. Good size bedrooms and two bathrooms. Nice dining room and tv room. Lovely features throughout the house.

The mattresses seemed a little worn, but the bedding was clean and the rooms were very comfortable.

Location is great , once you figure it out! Lovely base for our needs! We attended with two infants and it was great! Really well kept home and has everything you need! Lovely garden, just keeps going !

Only thing to note and this is not a fault just something for families to consider! The stairs are extremely steep and only something we had to consider due to travelling with very young children

The location in relation to the City centre. A nice walk into see the cathedral etc.

At least the property was clean. But there were a large number of issues with the maintenance of the property. Hinges on doors were coming undone meaning that doors would not shut. PAT tests were 2 years out of date on appliances .Fire extinguisher not dated. Windows did not lock. For a property called the Secret Garden the rear garden seemed somewhat unloved. We could go on. The longer we were there the more issues we found. On Sunday morning we sent an email about some of the issues but no response as yet. Glad we were not staying for more than 2 nights.
